Costume Information

To go with Storme's Guybrush, although her costume is from Monkey Island 2 and mine is from Tales of Monkey Island. XD Will likely have this ready for Aya.

Things that I might not have mentioned in the journal:

The costume and the sword were both made by me. The costume is briefly covered in the journal. The swords (I made two actually) were made with thin mdf for the blade part, cardboard tube for the hilt and papier mache for the hilt guard.

The costume itself was fairly easy. I only really had to make the jacket/waistcoat, with the most annoying part being the four swirls on the back.

The shirt has one sleeve longer than the other, so I altered a shirt from the charity shop.

The trousers also came from a charity shop, I simply sewed gold strips on the sides.

The boots were from eBay. The designs were painted on with fabric paint. It turns out fabric paint on fake leather works very well!

Shopping List

Jacket fabric£5.00Bought
Wig (from my own shop haha XD)£0.00Bought

Belt (Posted 26th July 2011)

This fastens at the back using velcro.

Jacket 5 (Posted 26th July 2011)

Fancy braid left over from Zidane cosplay a long time ago, rolled up and glued together. One side is stitched onto the jacket, the other side fastens with hook and eye.

Earring (Posted 22nd July 2011)

Elaine wears her wedding ring in her left ear as an earring.

It took a long long time to find the right gem but finally I found big acrylic diamonds for £2.80/pair. All I need to do is add a bit of wire and polymorph, then paint the polymorph gold, and voila!

Jacket 4 (Posted 21st July 2011)

This will look better after I iron it a bit. I hope.

Jacket 3 (Posted 21st July 2011)

Added lining, then started adding the white edge.

Jacket 2 (Posted 21st July 2011)

Had to do four of these. Urgh.

Jacket 1 (Posted 21st July 2011)

The reason behind making this cosplay is definitely not so that I get the excuse to buy and use this fabric. Really.
