Costume Information

Cost : Exceedingly cheap
Time Taken : 10-15 hours

Old school! Before I'd heard of wigs ;) (what do you mean San didn't have chin-length red hair...?)

Worn to Aya 2002, this was my second convention and my second costume! I was so proud of making my little necklace that I actually ran out of time to make her mask :D I adore all things Ghibli, and found this really fun to make. My first costume (which shall not see the light of day XD) was mainly bought clothes and adapted, so this was the first time I had to properly sew something. luckily she pretty much wears rags, so my shoddy sewing looked alright! I had really funky rag boots too, but no photos prove they exist :(

I used old material I found mainly, random elastic I found in my mum's sewing basket to make her arm bands and a pair of plimsoles as the boots base. I only had to buy the fimo to make the necklace, so this was extreme budgetting cosplay!

I cant beleive that your 'first' costume was the same character as my first one, although yours looks slightly more precise than mine. Although Ive yet to see another San cloak that I prefer to mine ^_^

OMG I never knew you cosplayed San!! I felt exactly the same about my shoddy sewing, it was okay because everything she wears is ragged!! :D

The necklace looks awesome. ^_^ I really need to remake mine sometime ...

Most of my older cosplays seem to be lost to the depths of the internet :P San is such a good fun first costume, as you two probably agree!
I had to make do with cheap fun fur, *mutters* back in my day you couldn't get anything better! *shakes walking stick*
Anyway, thanks guys :D
