| My most favourite character from my most favourite anime. EVA-r. *laugh track* This took me 3 years to make, on and off. yep. The suit is made entirely from scratch, with 4-way stretch vinyl (which is evil, don't talk to strange fabric). I tried to make the undershirt twice but the fabric i used was dodgy so i bought a sleeved leotard. This way I can remove the shirt and do the injured version of Rei if i want to. it was a lot of hard work but i'm pleased-ish with the way it turned out. this was my dream cosplay, and having a photoshoot on the Eva-like pier was so awesome. | |

Shoulder armour detail (Posted 12th August 2012) You can't really see these properly on the full shot i uploaded, but luckily i took this as well. it's made with real shoulder pads, and craft foam, covered in the infamous vinyl. |

Leg details (Posted 9th August 2012) This is about the third time the legs have been made. yep. previously i tried to do the leg lines with a sharpie pen, but it ended up smudging and wouldn't come off no matter what and i died inside. |

Bodysuit done (Posted 30th July 2012) it's been like this for a while but i never took a proper photo. if it werent for velcro this costume would be a disaster. as you can see i still need to re-paint the green things, but other than that it's done. |

Backpack done (Posted 30th July 2012) I was unsure of how to finish it, and the top bit is what I came up with today. not sure if i like it, it sort of looks too big, but i cant think of ways to make it any smaller. I like the bottom bit though. |

Wristbands (Posted 26th July 2012) These were made with foam and covered with velcro, the orange bits are craft foam. there's a little slit at the bottom with velcro on, that's how I get them on. |

shoes (Posted 6th February 2011) Before and after photo of the shoes. These are then used as a base, and the leg parts are stretched over the foam and glued around the bottom. |

Aha no zipper then. It's a good plan to use the hard parts of the costume to cover the gaps in the back...
