| Made with help from a lovely friend as I was mega down at the time. <3 Total Accumalative Hem of 4 layers - 42 Metres Around 20 Meters of Turquoise economy satin went into this. The layers were made from several Circle skirt section sewn together, more in each layer as it went down but there were 16 sections in total. These were then spray painted to give a gradient effect and then pleated. The bottom 3 layers were sewn on by hand. The flowers on the overlay were hand sewn on and the front gathered by hand, because my machine is a bitch <3 The big flowers on the bodice and sleeves were made from wire edged ribbon. The bodice is lined and interfaced to give it support and keep it's shape. The lines of sequins were sewn on my hand. (Was a trim) At the back there is a big bow which was mainly interpretation as Bloom's hair covers most of the back. The spiral parts of this were also circle skirt pieces, then a pile of lovely ribbons were attached round the middle. There are still some things I'd like to do with this, I will be adding the hair piece/changing the wig and prolly sewing on a clear sequin trim around the edge of the pink overlay. Sadly, it didn't win Juniors but I love it so much and I will be wearing it again ! | |
