| This is my Princess Tutu Cosplay! And my first upload onto this site! (after everyone so kindly helped me and showed me how! ^^; ) I know, I didn't make the tutu. But making a tutu would be borderline impossible for someone who could sew WELL! I bought it from Dance Direct. As I take dance classes anyway, I already had the tights and shoes. I made the arm bands from cotton and elastic and sewed it by hand (because I cannot work sewing machines to save my life!). The bracelets, which I assumed would be the easiest thing to obtain, were in fact the most difficult! Luckily, a few days before the convention, I found some hair elastics that I could wear. I know they're not accurate, but I felt that since the rest of my costume wasn't, they would go nicely. They're sparkly! Who doesn't like sparkles?! :) I made the pendant the good ol' fashioned way (art attack and blue peter taught me well) with carboard, poster paint and papier mache. And Glitter glue XD I chose this cosplay initially because I've always loved ballet, and to be able to use it with a cosplay would be mixing two of my favourite things together! I also love the anime, its story is really good; it gets a lot darker than I expected it to, which I think is great, especially as the art remains very easy to watch and fairly cute, so it takes any harsher 'edge' off it. When I first wore this costume altogether it was actually at the convention. I'd tried separate parts on but not the whole thing (which wasn't very clever...). I've wanted a tutu ever since I was little - it was an amazing feeling to be able to dress in one! :D I got a fair few pictures taken too, which (as well as boosting my self esteem) made me feel more confident that I could do the character and the costume justice ^ ^ | |
