Description
I didn't actually wear this - i just made it for one of my friends to wear for Amecon 2007. Everything was made from scratch asside from the trousers which are two different pairs modded and sewn together and the shoes. Checker pattern was put on using masking tape and a stencil brush. wig was styled using some particularly strong hair gel my friend owned and the little crystal thing was bought from the Isle of Whight glass making factory. It was a fun costume to make and it was nice take part in the masquerade with my friend in the Roxas costume and me in My kairi one.

Thank you very much :D

I used masking tape to mask out the area's around the shirt so i could put on the chequer pattern which took a while because it had to go under the arms :s and i had to cut all the strips of tape to the right size. I used acrylic fabric paint and a stencil brush to do so then ironed it for about 5-10 minutes once it was dry and the tape removed to set the colour.

I'm really glad you like it :)

Thank you so much :D

The coat i put the chequered patter on? I made it by modding one of my mums old patterns from the 70's. I just altered it so that the front sections were in two pieces instead of one so it fit the design and did the same with the back. I don't know if that helps at all though :S

And my friend was really happy with it... I am too actually I didn't think it would turn out as well as it did or that people would make such nice comments about it.

Thanks again :)

Hi!

I actually got two pairs of trousers, cut and modified them then sewed them together, to be honest it's a lot harder than it looks. I do usually make my costumes with material and a pattern i make up as I go along but for these it was just easier and actually cheaper. It did involve having to unstitch all of the inside leg and re hem the others. (I did get lucky as they had trousers in the right colour in primark so i just had Kevlin try them on to get the right size then went from there.)

I have made other trousers and I'd probably say to get hold of a pattern from a fabric shop or haberdashery. If not then base them on a pattern for trousers that you already have. Hope this helps ^^
