|What can you say about the mad bite-y lady? Idris' costume is fascinating- there are elements to it that make me think of metalwork (bodice mostly) and the raggedy look of it is going to be a real challenge to my terrible utter perfectionist. (Ragged hems? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!)|
Finding fabric to match the bodice and lace has given me no end of strife, leaving me with a fabric that is ALMOST perfect but not quite and needs dying, and a lace that is the same.
Update 02/2012: Idris is still a huge work-in-progress. I've realised I haven't got the right colour base fabric for the main skirt, so I need to go hunt that down asap. I need to replace the ruffles at the base of the skirt as they aren't deep enough, and I'm replacing the lace on the sleeves/skirt/bodice to something not shiny. Also going to be re-making the bodice, as I apparently have a weirdly-shaped torso which commercial patterns don't like. Thanks to Sephnoir, I'll be blocking up a pattern. Gulp!
