| Ok, going a bit more detailed than my last costumes. something to really push my own abilities. this is the first time i have ever made an actual vestement from scratch, mostly i just buy and heavily modify. this really tested my abilities, and i dont think it turned out bad. still some minor things to finish (detail on trousers and shoes), but i am very happy with the way this turned out. whole costume took me about 3 or 4 months to make, on and off, probably about 6 weeks work. Update: this cosplay has now been updated, to add the leg detail and other small details i missed off on the original version. this updated version was first debuted at Kitacon 09, along with Missytetra, who cosplayed as Fran alongside me, and together we placed first in the cosplay masquerade! Update 2: Balthier rides again. another year, another update! Balthier will be making an appearence on the sunday at May Expo 2010, in the FFXII group in the masquerade. for the occasion, i decided a good spruce up was the way to go. so i stripped of all the godaweful greyey brown cord fabric i used for the border the first time round. it was rubbish fabric to begin with, and had become very scruffy and faded over years of con use. ive replaced it all with a really nice light gold suadey material which goes really well! ive also updated the gun. no more crappy litte rifle from pound shop! this new gun is larger, heavier, and looks far more realistic. it even has the swirly detil on it! all in all, im very happy with the results! | |

Kitacon (Posted 29th March 2009) am going to reevaluate this cosplay for Kitacon, and add the details i missed before. hopefully perfect it ready. so updates will be forthcoming in Balthier mrk 2! |

Hey, MY BALTHIER!! *sigh* I don't know if I'm ever going to get away from the possessiveness of cosplaying the Fran to your Balthier, but one of these days I might just share you ^^ My big brother is such a great Balthier, and everyone is 100% correct, it's amazing, awesome, impressive, and well deserves a wink or two! (That and I couldn't help but comment again, I really do love this costume and can't wait to see your updated version which is going to blow my mind even more!)
