Originally was intended to be worn at Ayacon 2005, however I was naive and thought you could magic costumes up overnight, 3am the day of the con and a broken sewing machine later proved otherwise.
Everything you see thats material here due to the broken sewing machine (Minus shoes and white leotard) has been made from scratch in satin or elastic white cotton mix and hand sewn. Bows were probably the easiest using online tutorials. Skirt was a pain made two of them as the first one was awful cos it was just elastic gathering up the cloth. The white belt took a few failed attempts as well. My mother helped me get the pleats into this one properly (case of sewing them down into place along the top). Other easy tasks were sewing hooks and eyes onto chopped up ribbons to make the necklace and anklets. (Note I have made matching orange anklets now, those where lemon as I originally had lemon shoes as I could not obtain orange ones at the time.)
Brooch is made from flimo (modeling clay you shape and then cook in the oven) which I then used a glossy varnish over. It used to fall off alot till I got some gorilla glue on it, so if you remember seeing a Venus on the Sunday of May Expo 2008 constantly chasing her brooch around that kept flying off, that nit was me.
The orange glove rims where easy yet time consuming as quilting them took weeks litrally.
Anyway I could ramble on alot about this but I'll spare your eyes for now. Any questions or if you need any advice if your making a scout costume I'd be happy to help.
Artemis I bought at Ayacon ^_^
Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
