Costume Information

Cost : £30
Time Taken : 2 very gruellng days

Shame the Green Lantern group was on Friday which I couldn't get to :(

So on Sundy, I kicked out my Ion outfit.

I'm not entirely pleased with it since it's a two piece that I made a little too short on the top. So it would ride up when I sit. So I got sewn into the costume :P

It's a standard two piece since the V belt separated the top and bottom and was composed of wet look lycra and metallic green lycra (just like my other Green Lantern costume)
Block pattern was straightforward for this one aside from the fake polo neck which I had to redo since my original attempt didn't pan out.
I also took apart a cheap hi vis vest for its reflective tape to use on the chest emblem so it would be insanely white glowy when flash photographed.

The shoes were simple lycra socks pulled over canvas plimsoles.

Wrist guards were camping mat overlayed with plastazote to define the central edge and wrapped in green mateallic lycra. I deliberately didn't glue the edges of the guards togther to complete the ring so that I could actually fit my hand through the guard without pulling apart the weak camping mat.

Also STILL needs improving with some kind of galaxy based effect on the black parts..not sure if glitter would work in this instance or diamante painstakingly glued to the whole thing...

hay, sorry to spam and I dunno if you're planning on doing this costume (which is epic btw!!!) to May expo but there's a Batman/DC meet up on Saturday and it'd be awesome if you could come??
if you know anyone else that might be going that'd be interested please direct them to the forum post. Thanks!
