| For the AniMedia East Cosplay Picnic at Chapelfield Gardens (August 6th), Ayacon 2011, and London MCM Expo, October 2011. (THE FIRST WIG IS MORE LIKE HIS SPRITE'S HAIR. THE SECOND WIG (the pure white one) IS TRUE TO THE INTRO, ARTWORK AND THE MANGA). From Breath of Fire IV Wiki... Fou-Lu is the principal antagonist and founder of the Fou Empire centuries ago, with similar abilities as Ryu from Breath of Fire IV, yet with a more malevolent personality. When he was summoned to the world, the summoning ritual was incomplete, so the soul of Fou-Lu was parted in two. The other part is Ryu, the protagonist, who arrived in the world six-hundred years later than his alter-ego. Once Fou-lu founded the Fou Empire, he fell into a deep slumber, awaiting Ryu. http://bof.wikia.com/wiki/Fou-Lu (I discovered online that the name does in-fact have some form of meaning. The most appropriate meaning of 'Fou' that I found means negate/deny in Chinese, and through a long list of meanings for the word 'Lu' (also Chinese), there was one meaning that is the name of a or for 'river'. Fou mentions in the game that he is like a river that pulls life along with him. As a friend mentioned, his name could mean something along the lines of "impassable river"). The vowel sound "ou" in Chinese is pronounced "oh", and "u" is "oo". | |

About 80% there now! (Posted 7th July 2011) Indeed, Fou-Lu is now at about 80%. I have the belt to finish, the jumpsuit collar to tidy a bit, the green patterns to add on to the jumpsuit (and the red criss-cross on the forearms), aaannd the wrist/ankle cuffs to make. Sounds like a lot to do, but it's getting done rather swiftly. |

Swift progress! (Posted 28th June 2011) Alright, most of Fou-Lu is already done. I need to add the patterns to the jumpsuit, make the thick wrist/ankle cuffs, make the forearms (these will be gauntlets as it'll be easier to do than trying to manipulate the jumpsuit fabric), and following that, just a few touch-ups and he'll be done. |

The characters are indeed very interesting, and have a lot of depth. I relate to Fou-Lu so much that I had to put him up and cosplay him.

Yeah I was very nervous, but once I was on-stage it faded a bit, but when I went off stage I was shaking so much Sillabub had to take my sword off me. XD
I've told you many times but it always bears repeating - you looked wonderful and it was awesome to do the masquerade with you! I'm so proud of you for doing it, you were brilliant (even if I did bugger things up a bit at the start)! Really looking forward to getting more photos and stuff at Expo :D

There were a few photos of Fou looking like "wtf?" and then I aimed my sword as you started to walk. Accidental improvisation!
