| When I was a little girl, I remember when I watched the dancing scene from the film I really loved the colours of the dress and the way it was animated - so angelic and light. One day a long time ago, I saw a doll of Esmeralda wearing that red dress and I was like - sooo pretty, me want! 8D ...unfortunately I never got hold of that doll as I had quite a few already ^^; But now that I'm older, why own a doll with the beautiful dress when I can make a life sized dress myself? ^_~ Not only was it the dress that caught my attention but I've always loved her feisty attitude and her design - the one thing that caught my attention from the very beginning was her amazingly striking eyes! o.o and even now, I honestly think she is one of the prettiest Disney heroins ever I would love to cosplay as her but I'm unsure as I'm not tanned enough... UPDATE 25/07/11 Ok so listening to God help the outcast really put me in the mood to make this cosplay :) Made a start and so far though the bodice was quicker than I thought to sew, the sleeves were a problem to put on.... hope the end result will be ok... UPDATE 22/08/11 LOL only just realised this is not only my third Disney cosplay but my third black haired princess XD Wore this at Ayacon and I loved it despite sweating like mad! >.< Especially loved my Disney group and the amazing Lozzie as my twin <3 A huge thanks also to Fi (Crystalneko) for being an amazing photographer!! <3 | |

Crown (Posted 15th August 2011) Besides the dress, this was the other bit of the cosplay I was actually worried about - as a cheap option I used craft foam and I went through three different crowns til eventually I was happy with it even though it still looks pretty naff XD Pink: 1st attempt (awkward shape), Blue: 2nd attempt (too tall), Gold: Final crown (pva covered and spray painted with a red nugget) All I have left to do is glue it onto a hair band - and hopefully after, will have a preview photo of what it looks like when wear it :D |

Bracelet part 2 (Posted 28th July 2011) For the left arm bracelets, in the end I stuck with the cuff and got two smaller bracelets - it's been a bit annoying as I went through like 3 or 4 different sizes before I was satisfied with them ¬¬ any ways, all I did was spray paint them gold giving them a nice high gold sheen ^o^ LEFT: Original |

Finished dress (Posted 26th July 2011) Gotta clean up a few things first with the dress but other than that, I can't believe I made it this quickly!! O.o Some areas of the hemming still look a little messy but other than that I'm quite proud of it :D |

Sleeve progress (Posted 25th July 2011) Drafted out roughly one of the sleeves using the actual chiffon fabric - the sleeve pattern is literally a circle and I think it hangs ok ^^; |

Circle skirt (Posted 25th July 2011) I also roughly drew out the circle skirts a few days back - the bottom half of my dress is like Anastsia's - I used crepe satin and two layers of organza - I always imagined Esmeralda's dress to be a circle dress cos it's quote 'floaty' |

Bodice progress (Posted 25th July 2011) Feeling much better today, I decided to make a start on the bodice of this cosplay as after rewatching Hunchback of Notre Dame and constantly playing 'God help the outcast', I really wanted to make this dress :D NOTE: The white chiffon is not part of the cosplay - it's a scrap testing how the sleeve sits |

Wrap (Posted 25th July 2011) As well as making the start on the bodice, I also decided to hem the wrap which I decided would look great using chiffon :D |

Bracelet (Posted 24th July 2011) Got hold of some bracelets some time ago for this - I spray painted all three of them gold - now all I need to get is find something that looks like a cuff - had a cuff I could use but problem is - wearing that along with two of those bracelets makes everything look so chunky ¬.¬ so it's either I find a smaller cuff or small sized bracelets... |
