I kinda promised a guy on a gaming stand at May expo 2011 that I was gonna cosplay Saki for October expo 2011. So therefore had to finish it for then.

Was glad to have it part completed for Alcon therefore I could test it out and see what needed amending. the stockings needed extra work after this event, as they wouldn't stay up properly, and one was too short and had to be remade.

stockings (Posted 7th September 2011)

stocking made, out of white jersey material. I've done a rush job on them. as I was getting fed up of the outfit. So they are wearable, however, not as good as I would've liked them to be.

The outfit is finished, however, not tried on.

last minute sewing and stockings (Posted 4th September 2011)

finished sewing the binding round the dress, attached the front pompom, sewed the laces to the sleeves, and punched holes in the front and laced up.

the pink shoes arrived and they are great, however, they do hurt my feet, so will need to walk them in and take lots of plasters.

made small pink bands with bows on them to fasten around my ankles.

Need to either make shorts or find my cycling shorts.

And still need to make the stockings. I found a tutorial on making 18th C historical cotton/wool stockings, I plan to make mine out of white jersey material, but have no motivation today.

Will print off the tutorial tomorrow (when I get to a printer) and hopefully it will make it easier to follow

If I don't get them made, I'll use standard holdups instead.

update (Posted 31st August 2011)

after I made the pompom in May whilst on the election, I since lost it. So yesterday from the craft shop purchased a ball of fluffy wool, and used it all to make into a large pompom. Still need to attach to the front of the coat.

Can't find any see thru eyelets, so will have to punch the material and hope it doesn't fray.

Won a pair of pink leather Faith ballet shoes on ebay for a fiver. hope they arrive soon.

another update (Posted 29th August 2011)

decided to début the outfit at Alcon instead of Oct Expo. I should have it finished by then. Sewed the panels onto the sleeves then realised I needed frills inside. Fortunately I had some left after I'd cut up a blouse (I used the back panel of it for the front panel of Saki's coat). Didn't find any white fur at the bank holiday market today, but did find a white fluffy dressing gown, cut up the tie belt and used it for the white fur on Saki's sleeves.

tacked on the binding tape around the top of the coat - to find again I'd run out of it - I need 2 cm more. I'll get more than 2cm of it - the lady in the sewing shop tells me its a discontinued line, so perhaps 2m more.

Sewed gold lame elastic into band to hold up the stockings. I don't think I can make those, so I'll just use a pair of white hold-ups and put the gold bands around the tops of them.

Am bidding on a pair of shoes on ebay, if I don't win them, will probably buy a pair of canvas ballet shoes.

Have also tacked on the laces to the front of the coat, I wonder if I can find 'see thru' eyelets, so when I punch holes in the material, it won't fray or have visible eyelets.

Didn't find any small pompoms for the shoulder laces, so glued cotton wool balls to the ends of the laces. And hope it doesn't rain on the day.

update (Posted 14th August 2011)

started on the coat. cut the main body out and the sleeves. Need some darker pink material for parts of the sleeves and the front bit under where the lacing is. Also have run out of binding tape.

update (Posted 9th May 2011)

started making the large pompom whilst on the polling station last thursday. Went through one ball of wool. Need to find more. The first ball of wool was from a charity shop, don't think I'll be able to find the exact colour again
