| My first costume! I'd been umming and ahhing about which character to cosplay as for my first ever convention, and after a lot of mind changing I settled on Kamui as the Yoshiwara arc had just come out. Kamui is such an interesting character that I just fell in love with. The cast of Gintama is so strong, and let's face it, who doesn't secretly want to dress up as a Space Pirate Ginger Ninja? Didn't think so. Finding a pattern to alter was interesting, but all in all it went fairly smoothly, with my Mother helping me with things like lining and setting sleeves, as I'm SUCH a n00b :P I love my big purple umbrella and my awesome boots, but I'd love to redo the wig at some point, as at the time I just didn't have the skill to style it properly. I really enjoyed wearing it, even if only a few people recognised me, and I'd definately wear it again in the future! Unfortunately, I've worn the boots to death, and they're now dead. Darn. | |
