|*This costume is now retired from public events*|
This costume was pretty much all commissioned/brought ^^' Sailor Moon was the first anime series I watched and is still one of my favourites today. I wished to cosplay as a scout but decided a sailor fuku was a bit hard for me to make myself. However I do intend to give it a shot sometime =)
Jupiter was one of my fav scouts, I loved her strength and courage alongside her feminine and romantic side too. Another reason I chose her is because I wouldn't have to use a wig as my hair is a similar colour and style.
"Sailor Jupiter was the fifth and last Senshi discovered by the moon cats in 20th Century Tokyo. Her civilian identity was Makoto Kino, or Lita in the English dub. Sailor Jupiter was the strongest of the Inner Senshi in terms of physical strength, and was also the tallest.
Unusually, most of her attacks are based on her secondary power, lightning, which is in reference to the Roman god Jupiter. She is by far the physically-strongest of the Guardian Senshi, able to lift a full-grown man above her head even while ice skating or to stop a stone pillar from falling. Her primary attack for the first story arc and most of the second is Supreme Thunder, for which she calls down lightning from the sky with a tiny lightning rod that extends from the stone on her tiara. Although she channels this power, she is not immune to its effects, and can use her body to focus the electricity in a suicide move. It is upgraded twice for one-off attacks in the anime series: once to Supreme Thunder Dragon, and much later to Super Supreme Thunder. In the second story arc Sailor Jupiter gains Sparkling Wide Pressure.
Sailor Jupiter's earrings, large pink roses, are occasionally significant. She wears them in both her Senshi and civilian forms, and can use them as a projectile weapon if she needs to."
~Please see my journals for more details on the construction of this costume as well as progress photos~
The sailor fuku, gloves and choker I commissioned from superchinaseller on ebay.
The boots, tiara and earrings I got from Catzia's collectibles.
The brooch was a last minute order from Southern Moon creations.
I used my own hair for this costume (I originally bought a clip-in pony tail extension but it was cheap and horrible so it wasn't used after Expo). I painted the hair bobble to a more accurate colour.
I bought some white bikini bottoms to wear under the skirt to look like the bottom of her leotard and to protect my modesty as I didn't want to be flashing my underwear XD
I now have green contacts =3
I first wore this costume to the May 08 London MCM Expo and it was my second time cosplaying. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy the day much due to personal reasons and ended up heading home early. There was a Sailor Moon group but it wasn't organised very well and so I only found one photo of me taken that day apart from those taken at the Neo/Manga stand.
In February 09 I had a private photo shoot with Angel Aiko as Super Sailor Mars in the beautiful Kyoto Gardens in Holland Park, London. I was happy to be able to get some decent photos of this costume.
Sailor Jupiter made her final showing at Ayacon 09 as part of a huge Sailor Moon gathering. It was fun to be able to get photos with 4 other Jupiter's!

Green contacts (Posted 20th February 2009)
I have a really strong blink reflex and struggled so much with these but I was determined to be as accurate as possible so that includes eye colour.
Bag (Posted 25th May 2008)
I used 3D glitter fabric paint I had left over from a fairy costume (A Midsummer Night's Dream) I made during college to edit a plain black bag I would be using whilst at Expo. I think it's quite cute =3
Brooch (Posted 20th May 2008)
The brooch was a last minute order from Southern Moon creations as I had trouble locating a suitable looking gem/bit of coloured plastic that I could make into the broach myself. Some people say it's too big but I think it looks really good. The only problem is it's a tad heavy and drags my bow down a bit.
Hair (Posted 15th May 2008)
My hair is naturally brown (not quite her shade however) and I also have a side fringe so the basic styling of her hair was fine. Her ponytail is quite long though so I brought an extension to clip into mine but it was cheap and matted really easy so it wasn't used again. Her hair bobbles I already had some years back but they were a slight too bright shade of green. I got some aqua green nail varnish and painted over them. One of the only things I actually did myself! ^^'
Tiara (Posted 15th May 2008)
Catzia's Collectibles are known for making the best Sailor Moon tiaras and so naturally I decided to get mine from there. Unfortunately they're not very comfortable to wear >_<
Earrings (Posted 15th May 2008)
Another purchase from Catzia's Collectibles. These are for pierced ears and I like to wear them outside of cosplay as I think they're rather pretty =3
Boots (Posted 15th May 2008)
I ordered the boots from Catzia's Collectibles and were very pleased with them as the style is very accurate. They came with black laces however so I just swapped them for some white ones. The boots were coloured with paint which has scuffed slightly through use but I can always tidy them up myself.
Sailor fuku, gloves and choker (Posted 15th May 2008)
The main part of her outfit (leotard with skirt, collar and bows attached),the gloves and choker I commissioned from superchinaseller on ebay. It wasn't quite as nice as the photo (there's a lot of copyright theft between ebay cosplay sellers) and I wasn't happy they weren't prepared to alter the collar for me as the stripes are slightly wrong for Jupiter but otherwise it looks quite good.
