| Complete! This is the first costume I've made completely from scratch and although it's not perfect I am really proud of it! I've learnt from this that that shiny material is a BITCH to work with and I probably wont do it again(Although I have already bought it for Stocking and for Rin's coat >.<') to be warn on the Saturday of MCM Expo May 2011 hopefully I'll get some nice photo's while I'm there ^_^ I love Ritsu and K-On! and Fuwa Fuwa Time is my favourite song by them (so far at least I'm only half way through season 2) and I just loved their outfits for the first performance they did of Fuwa Fuwa Time (It was at the end of Season 1) Was planning on doing this for the evening of October Expo but now that I'm going to Hyper Japan I've decided to do it for that ^_^ And now its being bumped forward to May MCM | |

Kimono Progress! + A problem (Posted 25th April 2011) It's only pinned here and needs some adjustments still (the back is like 10inches longer then the front because of where I drew the pattern on the fabric XD) and as you can see it doesn't cover the petticoat however, after having a huge hissy fit about it I've figured out how to fix that. The Obi is also only held together by me. I'm tempted to remake this as even though I wanted it to be stiff and stand out, I don't like the foam any more, it makes me look even chunkier. So yeah, may be re-doing it. I've never done anything like this before and didn't have a pattern to use so despite the petticoat malfunction I'm still pretty happy with it and will be fixing that bit soon~ |

Yess.
Can't wait to see :3
It's looking really good so far.
But a bit of constructive criticism. The tulle petticoat you're using isn't really right for the costume, it makes it stick out too much. If you have time, you should instead make a three layered underskirt/petticoat out of mesh, as it gives the thickness and poofiness but it's softer and give the drapey effect the kimono has.
Looking great :-) I love the pattern you've replicated so well on the waist band and the fabric's lovely. Have fun making it!
@Newdles Thanks, I loved making the waist band <3
@Nixie The petticoat is actually made out of mesh unfortunately I don't have the time or money to make another one or buy a different one but I may try and get/make a different one for my Stocking cosplay as it's not really sitting properly either >.<
I saw a quick glance of you!
I was sitting down, and i was gonna get up but i was too fat to move after eating ):
@stripeycow Hah XD Don't worry I probably would have done the same!
