|Time Taken :||Many months of ebay, about 2 days to hand dye the Scanty wig, about a week for all the accessories, about a week for the suits|
|Raine and I shall be the Demon Sisters!|
Our height difference means I'll be wearing really massive platforms (which I wanted to get anyway), whilst Raine will have kitten heels.
The make-up was an absolute nightmare to get as I am an awkward, allergic sausage and had to order 4 different red mineral make-ups before I got one that I wasn't allergic to and that was actually red when it arrived! Pink and brown are not red, dear purveyors of make-up and if you can't wear it on your eyes, but can wear it on your face it's not eyeshadow, it's faceshadow... whatever that is. lol.
Also, how many different shades of beige ARE there?! Seriously, had to order several suits before I got two that were mostly the same shade and then they annoyed me so much that I hid them and decided to just make them from scratch... probably should've just gone to Primark originally tbh. Though if anyone needs a spare beige suit...
Oh, and I didn't order enough fabric the first time around because I am a shiny spoon and didn't realise how much fabric it takes to make a suit; no wonder they're so expensive!
NOTE: During the Masquerade, when we got off stage, I had a fall (if you've had a look at the heels I was wearing, that is not a good thing), caused mostly by Kevin Pack, Ayacon press officer and FAWC extrordinaire; who is very rude and unprofessional and did not appologise for this and then continuted to tell cosplayers who couldn't move in their costumes very well to move and leave the seats that were for cosplayers who couldn't move very well in their costumes for the cosplayers who couldn't move very well in their costumes. Seriously, that FAWC made the Gitarooman cosplayers go all the way up the back of the seating area, AFTER he had already caused an accident... Gitarooman could barely sit down in that cosplay, wth?! Not impressed with his behaviour. If you know me, you know how difficult it is to get me actually angry at all... well Kevin Pack has managed it. I am holding a grudge now and that is not like me, especially as it's now months later and I am still angry at him.
Suits (Posted 14th August 2011)
Not sure whose jacket Pudding is modelling here, but she made both hers and Raine's, as well as the skirts (though Raine needed to fix a bit of her skirt afterwards).
Make-up test 2 (Posted 14th August 2011)
Eye make-up by projectXshae. Eyebrows covered this time. Shane tried out anime eyes, but I decided that I prefer to just have natural eye-shape.
Accessories (Posted 14th August 2011)
I made all of the accessories for this, taking special care to make Raine's tail and wings a bit longer and pointy-er than mine to suit the character designs. This was my first experience of PVC and it's a right biatch to sew. projectXshae helped to sew the wings together whilst I was making the suit jackets. I had a right nightmare finding red makeup that I'm not allergic to.
Wiggy wig (Posted 14th August 2011)
This took me two days to hand-dye with isopropyl alchol and acrylic ink. I started with a silver curly wig, did a soret of blue/turquoise base and then added the minty green layer. Then I back-combed it to heck and sprayed with much very cheap hairspray whilst hairdryering it upwards (and wearing a very sexy diy mask as I'm very allergic to hairspray). I got a very specific and inexplicable sunburn on one arm; just a little square that made no sense as I wasn't wearing anything that could have made it....
