Wiggidy what (Posted 10th October 2012)

CrazedTeensie linked me to a wig on eBay the other day that was perfect for Frankie Stein - and to be honest, I'd been really worried about the wig for this costume. Because Frankie has striped hair, I would have had to sew in wefts which made me a little uneasy. However, this wig was cheap and looked good in the photo, so I decided to give it a go. It arrived this morning and it's lovely! :) Just what I wanted.

Dress! (Posted 1st September 2011)

After buying some tartan when I went to the fabric store the other day, I finally got around to starting Frankie's dress today!

The white part at the top of the dress is part of an old shirt that I cut up and saved for this costume (the old shirt had an underbust corset attached to it, but the boning had started poking out of the channels so I didn't wear it anymore). I hate making collars, so I decided to make this one easier on myself and use one that was already made!

The tartan part of the dress was created using one of my favourite patterns. At first I did try and match the tartan patterns together at the seams, but after a few attempts it started to annoy me and I stopped trying. I figured that, as Frankie is the daughter of Frankenstein's monster, she's all mis-matched anyway so it won't matter too much! :P

I'm about to start handsewing the black detail onto the white part, and I'm still yet to make the skirt part of the dress.

Shoes a-go-go! (Posted 27th March 2011)

In relation to the previous journal, I also started painting the shoes for Frankie as well. I've included a picture of what they looked like before (goodbye, pink!) and a picture of what they look like at the moment, because I only had time to paint one shoe white.

Earrings! (Posted 27th March 2011)

I went to CrazedTeensie's house today so we could get some work done on Rudeth's Brief cosplay, and while I was waiting for the paint to dry on his jumpsuit, I decided to go ahead and make Frankie's earrings. I love them :3

Shoooooes~ (Posted 27th March 2011)

I have some platform shoes that I bought years ago, but I never really wore them as I didn't have any clothes that looked good with them, and also, they were somewhat of an impulse buy. They've been sat in my wardrobe for who knows how long, so after some thinking I fished them out of there and decided they were a great shape for Frankie's shoes. I'll need to paint over them as they're currently pink and black (and one of them has a big ugly black scratch down the side which I think was actually there when I received them in the post! D:<), but that shouldn't be too hard. Just need to acquire some black and white paint.
