Old costume: Made and completed age 18 This was my 'dream costume'. I spent a large number of my later teenage years being obsessed with a series aimed at little girls and got very silly about it. I sourced very expensive (at the time, and for a student) fabric for the tail and spent hours scouring shops for the right shades of pink in the skirt. The hair extensions cost a lot and were very, very heavy! I went on an extreme diet for this costume, weighing only 8st and a dress size 8 and really worrying my boyfriend. This costume was ridiculous because I could not walk in it and I was freezing. It was also very uncomfortable and bits kept falling off (thankfully not 'out'). I spent so much time and effort and money on it I was extremely upset when I didn't win any awards for it. Thankfully my Mum managed to take some good photos of it so I never have to wear it again. I have filed this away as one of those things that you do when you're young. I still cringe about it today, but at least it was a good effort and something I still feel proud to show off. I just wish I hadn't made such a drama about it at the time!
