Description
Recently finished watching Soul Eater and we all decided to do a Soul Eater group for October expo. We had most of the characters and as I liked Tsubaki I chose to do her. Unfortunately the guy who would be our Black Star was on holiday, so even though we did the masquerade, it was a little sad as we didn't have the whole group. This is the first cosplay that I actually made most of myself. It is apparently technically a modified cosplay because I didn't make ALL of the clothes myself but meh. There was so much sewing and for me, who isn't that good at sewing, it was a big deal. But I got there in the end and I'm proud of it. The hardest part was somehow getting Tsubaki's hair. I managed it because my hair is basically the same colour, so I just used part of a fake wig, a ribbon and A LOT of wire. I couldn't get her hair to stand so high, but it still looks good from the pictures and I got a number of compliments so yay ^^ The masquerade was really fun, as was the Soul Eater group that we attended on Sunday. We also finally found a Black Star and after Soul and I chased him through half of ExCel yelling "Black Star!" We managed to get him back to us for a lovely group of photos. Also got filmed for a Cosplay Lip Dub, Bon Jovi; It's My Life.

Ok a couple of days ago I did a lot of messing around with hair styles etc, including making a wire frame, putting my hair through a kitchen roll tube, cutting that tube in half, pinning my hair back, a lot of things X_X. In the end I've settled for two hair bands, one with the hair extensions attached and one for my hair, and literally just wrapping a white tie around my hair.

Other than that we are golden! Looking forwards to this weekend, woop woop. Got ma ticket and ma train ticket and ma accomodation. Funds for spending...that I'm not too sure about X_X.

Sewing Done! (Posted 25th September 2011)

I have now officially done more work for this cosplay! YAAAY, my father would be so proud X_X. Basically cut off the wraparound dress in a manner so that the split in the dress would stand out more, so I hemmed that. Then I sewed on the little yellow stars onto Tsubaki's gloves and finally I sewed the Breast Star on (Lol) and the sash together.

Boots have also arrived and I've bought knee length black socks and duck tape for the silvery bits on her boots/side ^^. Wig left to find =/

Sash and Dress arrived! (Posted 17th September 2011)

Ordered a plain silver sash for the belt and a wrap around cream dress from Ebay. The sash arrived on monday and the dress arrived today. I was so excited! I put on what I had so far and pinned the sash and dress in places where I felt I could do alterations. It's really starting to come together! I've also ordered my boots, but they have arrived at my parents house so I'm waiting on my mum to forward them to me XD. Error on my part for forgetting to change the postal address!

Gloves Done (Posted 21st August 2011)

Cut out the material for the white faux fur of the gloves and also the stripey socks. Sewed the fur together to make a tube shape and then sewed one end of the fur to the socks, gloves done!

Starting Off (Posted 11th August 2011)

Figured out basically what I need and what I can use for it, its just putting it together. Bought some long stripey socks that I can cut and make into gloves along with the white fur off an old hood of my mums. Also got the ninja tube scarf in town yesterday so thats good. Boots need to be sorted out!
