Ayacon was good. (Posted 22nd August 2011)

I wore this costume for both the Saturday Masquerade and just around the place on Sunday (even to the Party!)
I had a really god reaction from the crowd during the Masq (thanks guys!) which really put a smile on my face and makes me want to finish the costume. Talked at length with a few people about it too, many people are just as stoked as me to make and wear this costume and others from Assassins Creed - I think I have convinced a few people to make Brotherhood novices! getting a Group of us together for a big photoshoot would be epic at somewhere like Amecon next year! hint hint...

Hurrah! (Posted 29th April 2011)

been very late on updating anything with this costume.
I won the Costume competition at Kitacon 3 with this costume, coming joint first with my Wife (wearing Caterina Sforza from the same game).
Costume needs loads more work though.

more progress (Posted 25th March 2011)

So far this last week I have cut out all the Leather parts ready to be sewn together. I started some of this by making some of the pouches for the back of my belt so theres plenty of room for smoke bombs.

Also my extra fabric arrived so I cut out the pieces and sewed the top Jacket together - looks really weird with one patch on cream on a black jacket.
I put Eyelets into my shirt and trousers so they now tie up with a string - Later to be replaced with the leather thong I ordered today.

I also made up the Hood which was rather tricky. Going by the pattern on it in the game I came up with 14 pieces to make the hood out of, lovely.
got to do it all over again though for the lining.

see picture of progress

Ive cut up some more fabric (Posted 13th March 2011)

During the week I finished off the Shirt with tons of buttons and frilly lace.
The second shirt has also begun, the Dupion is cut out and taking shape, but no arms yet.
The main black parts of the hood and over layer is also mostly cut out - although didnt check when making up the pattern so I dont actually have enough material. Will buy more then re-dye the whole lot once its cut out to make sure the colour is maintained. The stuff cut out from the newer fabric will be for parts less noticeable to stop any problems.

Spent a lot of time today opening up an old charity leather coat I found for £20.
This will form the basis of the Boots, Bracers and the shoulder part that holds the cape.

Cut some fabric (Posted 6th March 2011)

I've cut out the fabric today for the first shirt as seen in the Undergarments ref image.
I also cut out and started to make the Trousers, I accidentally made them very much too tight but I put in some extra sections at the sides to make up for it.
tomorrow I'll sort out the fly and waistband to make sure it fits properly.

The fabric is dyed. (Posted 5th March 2011)

I've dyed the fabric this evening from Cream to Black.
Just waiting for it to dry now pics to follow.

Materials begin to arrive. (Posted 2nd March 2011)

Just got the Fabric in so I thought I would upload to the Site.
Got some brilliant Cotton for this all in cream so that I can Dye it black as I could not find black fabric so soft and hard-wearing.
This fabric is similar to the Broadcloth used in 1600s, where the game is set.
Also got some lightweight cotton for my undershirts as well as some plain black cotton to line it all.
I'm still looking for the right leather to use - it has to be soft and worn looking but I cant find that new. I think I need to go scavenging for some old bags and coats to cut up.
