|*sigh* Makie! Give in to Kagehisa-sama! Look at him! He's HATTT!!!|
This is actually my very first *proper* kimono. I found out the reason why my collars were never perfect was because nobody machine sews the collar around the shoulders. It has to be done by hand and that the main body of the kimono has to be concertina-ed into the collar to give it more of a pop-up body. I also discovered the amazing qualities of the kimono! It's like wearing one big pocket! Great for stealing sweets!
I was also going to make the sword thing but when I found it was taking me 15 minutes to saw the width off my 2inch think pine with my weak but flabby arms I realised how overly ambitious that idea turned out to be! I was rather upset at having to abandon my sword until I came up with having the amazing idea of just paper-mache-ing the sword and covering it up! Afterall, i wanted to do the travelling outfit and an uncovered weapon wouldn't fit! I'm very pleased with the way this turned out!
My biggest problem was not having a bag of some sort (I *am* a girl you know!) so my next mission will be to make a bag that looks like those small bundles wrapped in cloth! Oh and also I had to bind my chest and it didn't hold all day and even started slipping despite lots and lots of tape! I would be grateful for any advice you can give me!
In my head I looked like a pretty boy! I hope you all agree! And I hope I did him justice!
