The jacket (Posted 15th January 2011) The jacket was just a plain leather jacket which I then added cap rivets to in order to spell out 'Daft Punk'! |

"Progress"...Sort of :P (Posted 15th January 2011) Well, i'm still on the pepakura stage of the helmet itself but i have had confirmation from the DT lecturer at college that i can use their vacuumformer for my visor. I've found acrylic plastic that's about 80% black tinted and i'm currently looking for high-power RGB LEDs and a way to change between patterns. |

Ohhhhh this looks pretty cool. I'm possibly doing a charity music event with a friend as Daft Punk so would love to get some ideas on how to do the helmets. Good luck with this. I was going to do Thomas' but will still be relevent.
The helmets? Well with my Guy helmet i'm making it out of pepakura at first, hardening it with resin, possibly fibre glass and filler...And then taking it to college at bunging it under the vacuumformer to get the visor :) With Thomas i'd say do the first few steps and then perhaps try to get some black plastic and just bend it to shape? Good luck with your's and your friend's helmets :)

OH MY SWEET JEEBUS!! I am definity coming to expo now. Seeing anything even vaugely daft punk related I am sure to explode with excitement, so seeing this WHOLE COSTUME I am unsure whether I will survive til the end of the day...Oh Well! If you see somebody on the floor twitching and mumbling with joy then (Ill ask you now as I probobly will be unable to then..)I would LOVE a photo!
Haha, thank you :P My girlfriend and i have put even more work into the helmet and managed to resin and filler most of it :) Jst more fillering, sanding, MORE sanding, EVEN MORE sanding, vacuum-forming the visor and then painting...Oh, AND putting in the lights :P
