|Another cosplay which I made by myself. I started off with buying a simple bridal pattern that matched Neo Queen Serenity's dress as close as possible (the top needed slight altering though).|
The main bodice and skirt is made out of White Crepe Backed Bridal Satin and another layer of the skirt was made out of Georgette fabric. The gold rings were made out of some leftover Gold PVC that I had, however it matched the Satin very nicely. There are also two rows of white shiny beads.
The "bow"... Oh God the "bow". Now quite frankly, this caused me more problems than what the dress did. On large paper, I drew out the shape of both the top part of her bow and the bottom parts, then I bought some thick aluminium wire in which I bent into the shapes that were drawn on the paper.
I had to re-bend these wires about a thousand times for them to be identical. Then came the part of cutting the fabric into shape and stitching them onto the wire which was an even bigger pain in itself.
Once that palaver was over, I made a sash out of white foam, and stitched on some snaps, as well as to the dress, then stitched it around the middle part of the wires, to hold all four parts of the bow then placed them on the dress.
The bow was foldable for easy transport, but it was hard to get around... ^_^;;
The crown I bought from Moon Prism and it was absolutely gorgeous and well made, I totally recommend her.
The moon on my forehead was cut out of Gold PVC and stuck on with double sided tape (god did that last long, it was amazing).
This is my favourite costume by far, but I do hope to re-do the wing and make them a bit more flowy...
