|This was a commission piece done for a friend. This was made in 2008.|
He was due to take part in a 'The Three Musketeers' group for a sci-fi convention (The Starfleet Ball). He already had the base costume but really wanted to snazz it up. He asked if I would be happy to build the neck piece for him, I agreed.
He wanted to keep it quite cheap as he had other costumes to sort out. Using a combo of stock materials and new ones I was able to make it for roughly $5.
The cross was made from a piece of plastic that was cut into the shape I wanted. I then used Fibre Glass resin and liquid hardener to created a solid coating. I moulded a small amount of Miliputt which I then added a gem. This was then glued onto the cross. Once dry I painted it in Games Workshop acrylic paints. I finished it with spray varnish.
The neck piece was made from dark blue taffeta. The cross was then added using a link.
