Mishaps! But, plodding on regardless! (Posted 16th August 2011) So I dyed the dress a darker blue...and it's blotchy. FFS! Put it back in the dye. It came out better...but still blotchy in many areas. However it kind of looks interesting...so I'll work with it and put up with it. Need to "hem" the sides and then put the ribbon on...can I do this before Thursday? |

New dress to turn into jacket-dress (Posted 15th March 2011) I've cut through the the bottom of the dress to open it up. Now I have to take the buttons off, hem it up the sides and sew gold ribbon around it. I have decided not to use the velvet top for the time being. |

I have an old navy faux velvet shirt that I'm sewing gold ribbon on to for this, so I hope it looks ok when it's done. I am a beginner in sewing after all.
