| i loved Hope simply for his growth as a character throughout final fantasy xiii, he was one of the more human characters and easy to relate to. I originally picked Hope to cosplay because SOMEONE told me they were going to do Snow, but that didnt work out so im a loner now! I'm far too tall for Hope but i dont really care, i like him too much not to cosplay him. and ffxiii quickly became my second favourite final fantasy when i was playing it. EDIT 25-08-11 since i didnt get it done for ayacon thanks to stupid fabric not arriving, im gunna finish it for the eurogamer expo :) EDIT 22-09-11 its like some higher power doesnt want me to finish or wear this costume. cant afford the eurogamer and im not longer free on the sunday, so looks like ill be wearing this for october expo. EDIT 27-02-12 Fixed everything up for the WCS and ECG prelims at Hyper Japan, i entered with Yuka's Vanille and we won! Was so surprising. Thank you for all the support from everyone, cant wait to represent the UK later this year. | |

one day left...kinda (Posted 23rd February 2012) one bit done...im gunna have to pull another 6am job. boots have been repainted, gloves still need doing. and the back pockets on the trousers... |

everything went wrong and it set me back 2 days....fuuuu (Posted 21st February 2012) here is how its looking atm. i had to forgo the paper maché, it somehow managed to fuck up. so i had to just go straight with paper clay. i didnt want to use paper clay because it would take me longer to get to the panting stage. but yeah, almost there now...and only 3 days left. |

week to go (Posted 17th February 2012) boomerang is paper machéd atm, back pockets have been added, need to fix the side poclkets on the trousers, repaint my shoes, and i need to make new gloves D: |

damn (Posted 29th August 2011) i tried to dye the rib knit thingies for the bottom of hopes trousers and they ended up the totally wrong shade of green :( time to find an olive green hoody to steal the knitted things off. |

postponed (Posted 13th August 2011) so i figured instead of stressing out trying to get this done in 3 days, im just gunna pick it up again after the convention. i dont want to rush it and make it look poop. |

slow progress is slow (Posted 26th June 2011) well i did one boot, 2 weeks later and im still doing the other boot. finding it hard to motivate myself with cosplay since my friends arent making a move to do theirs. not long till ayacon now and im starting to worry i wont finish any of my costumes :/ |

Sadly I won't be in costume, it's a trip with my college and they don't exactly appreciate cosplay! ;__;
ahhh thats a shame :( college trip though, wish id gone on college trips to gaming expos, all we got was lectures and crap :/

I was wondering if you would tell me the secret to making collars stand up, look stiff. Like your hope collar as I’m cosplaying as lightning and my boyfriend is cosplaying snow. Both characters have stiff collars, how is this achieved?

@amy-lou thank you very much, that prop was a pain to make but it was so fun folding it in and out XD and its fine, hardly anyone recognises me when im in or out of costumes, i should wear a neon name badge so everyone knows who i am haha.
