Legwarmerssss!!! (Posted 16th May 2011) They have arrived! And they're frigging awesome!! In other news, the wig is like, so close to being done >< But I ran out of wool at the last bloody moment, so I', waiting on even MORE in the post... Gonna start work on the uni today, as I need to get this done! I have like, 3 days to try and get ALL of my costumes done, so that I have enough time to revise for exams at the start of next week >_>;; |
|
Gloves (Posted 11th May 2011) All my uni work is FINALLY done! So now I can crack on properly! Because I've never used this sort of paint before, i decided to do the gloves first, which would help me practice. It's far easier to replace some £3 gloves, than a £30 unitard... The other glove is mostly red, so I sponged on a watered down base, which is honestly a bit too pink ,and then I'm going to cross hatch that to hell and back when it's dry. The gloves themselves are meant to be fingerless, but I can't for the life of me find my fray check... |

Legwarmers (Posted 3rd May 2011) I ended up commissioning the legwarmers from Zabreneva, over at http://northernkandc.weebly.com/index.html and would totally recommend her :D Anyway she finished them and sent me this pic before she posted them, and OMG I love them! I know it's not really my own progress but I'm so excited I just HAD to update! It all seems to be coming together :D All I have left to order now is the fabric dye for the unitard (which still hasn't turned up, not impressed) and then it's just a case of finishing it all ^____^ |

More wig (Posted 17th April 2011) Actually did this a couple of weeks ago but only just got round to updating. Spent a day hand sewing the edge of the wig. My thumb, words cannot describe the pain. Anyway, when i tried it on it very nearly didn't fit-the ho glue has made the edge solid and the wig-form was slightly too small. Put off working on it until I make the wig-form a bit bigger but I might go work on it later. Also, have an awful photo with no make up and a pretty terrible zit... |

More wig :D (Posted 28th March 2011) Spent a good portion of Friday and Saturday working on the wig. I'm basically gluing knots of wool to a swimming cap, which isn't too bad, but tying the little knots is starting to piss me right off... In order to avoid an ugly edge from the gluing, I'm sewing the wool to the very edge, which makes it look neater and will make it sit nicer on my face. It is taking, for freaking ever. Spent about 4 hours sewing around one edge. I cannot be arsed to do the other side for a while... If you look at the image, the right hand side has had most of the edge sewn, whilst the left hand side hasn't, so you can see what a difference it makes :D However, it is easier to sew the edge when there's less hair on the actual wig, so I'll need to sew the edge before I can really finish gluing the rest of it TT__TT Aside from this, it turns out my tail looks a bit too purple in artificial light D: So if I get the chance, I'll probably remake it, or at least cut off all the purple-red and replace it with better yarn... |

Making wig D: (Posted 24th March 2011) Currently working on the wig, but holy crap it's gonna take forever! And I get the awful feeling that I haven't ordered quite enough crepe wool >< |
|
Wig base (Posted 23rd March 2011) Just threw together a base for the wig... Was a lot more fiddly than i was expecting... Now to iron crepe wool and sew it on... So much crepe wool... |
|
Some real progress! Finally! (Posted 19th March 2011) Made my tail, just tied bits of yarn to a rope for a few hours whilst i chatted on Skype... Where I kept tying the knots by fingers were getting red marks though D: But it is done! And it's all fluffy and crap... In hindsight, it's completely wrong for the film version I'm doing, as it appears to be mostly white in the movie, but I don't really care to be honest... With the wool though, was also delivered my gloves! They make me feel somewhat more elegant when I wear them... >_>;; |
