Costume Information

Cost : alot..i plan to make it in silks

I fell in love with this character the moment she appeared on screen. Such elegance, grace and ethereal fragility.

I want to recreate this costume in accurate fabrics as they just lend themselves to the character. Silk has an elegance and regal feel that work, plus they flow so beautifully.

A sand washed charmeuse will be used for the dress and i will attempt the ombre dying which i think will need to be done in 3 stages, dye the silk the pale blue, then the medium blue and finally the dark blue.

ive found some gorgeous gold indian braid for the neck trim of the inner gown, which i will only make a top out of the fabric that shows and then use cheaper fabric for the parts that dont show. The underskirt in a gold crinkle fabric i found will be attached, so basically the costume will be a dress and a wrapped robe over that and a simple turtle neck body under the dress so it lies flat and smooth under the layers.

i want to make the crown piece of the corset detachable so i can use it as a prop. I have over a 1000 gold beads and 4 reals of fine gold wire to make the corset which will be a fake corset that will sit over a real corset that will be worn under the robe. The real corset being steel boned will be magnetic and allow little magnets on the gold corset to attach to the real corset and not move or twist out of place.

I have the white blonde wig and some wig dye to do the tips yellow.

The makeup is a alcohol based liquid that wont come off till i want it too, Its by SKin Illustrators and in shade ricepaper. Ive found that using a simple glue stick ( yep prit stick) works a charm at covering eyebrows and hiding them!

Lastly the contacts. Id really love to have accurate contact lenses, i simply cant afford them as ive found them for about £150. So ive found some close ones that are smaller on the eye but serve their purpose -a warm yellow with black outer ring design that looks natural and not 'blocky'

I am so looking forward to seeing this. You are going to look so stunning. I'll re-wear my Nuada so we can have a shoot together if you don't mind ;)

ON hold (Posted 3rd October 2012)

I have pretty much everything for this costume except the sandwashed charmeuse silk. That's because it is soooo expensive! I'd rather do it right than find something not as good to get it finished.
