Description
Well, as a fan of the manga I thought I should cosplay one of the Links, so I looked through which one of their weapons I could do and I settled on the Fire Rod, and therefore Red Link!

The wig was bought off eBay and styled with the hairspray and hairdryer technique. I must say I look quite good in blonde. XP

The hat was made out of red material cut in one triangle and then sewn together. I did cock-up the first one since I forgot to make it symmetrical(sp?).

The tunic was made out of red material with a front and back cut out and then sewn together.

I did attempt making a shirt but it was turning out horrible until I stumbled upon this one in a charity shop. I got it even though the sleeves are a tad short, but I'm fortunate that I found a long-sleeved shirt of that colour.

The belt I found in Next and I made the buckle from a cardboard circle painted and then velcro-ed on, since I need to do up the belt before sticking the buckle on. I also velcro-ed the excess onto the belt so it wouldn't dangle.

The tights and boots were found on eBay. I was thinking that just one pair of tights would make it too pale but the pink of the skin showing through made it match with the costume. XD

The Fire Rod took bleeding ages! First I moulded the shape with a kitchen roll tube, newspaper, and sellotape, and then my knowledge from watching Art Attack all those years ago finally came to use as I paper-mache-d it. It took a couple layers of that, and then a billion layers of poster paint before learning that it wouldn't be very effective if being held a lot. So then I learned about acrylic paint and used a couple layers of that! Marker penned the lines on and then stuck the baubles on with super glue since I had measured the shape they would fit in when moulding the shape. It did go a bit cocks up but it's done now and looks super and sticks really well!

There isn't anything I would change about this costume so I'd be happy to wear it again but I would love to get a shirt with longer sleeves.
