|When you look through collections of original photo's you see loads of very neat pressed , new looking outfits of what look like "Dudes" ,visitors to the West, wearing "costume". Further research reveals these to be real Cowboys, newly outfitted in a railhead town, and getting studio photographed as a souvenier. After 3 months on the trail, their original clothes were fit only for throwing away, and the new garb will be worn till they next finish a cattledrive, in about another year.|
Here I wear a buckskin jacket, wool shirt, bedford cord overalls reenforced with leather. A red cotton print bandana, black riding boots, grey felt hat and a plain leather gunrig.
This sort of outfit is typical of the South West, New Mexico area, which happens to be the setting for films like "The Good The Bad and The Ugly" and various other films by Sergio Leone.
