Description
I know that it isn't particularly Arabian themed, however it is a very beautiful outfit!

...one more thing (Posted 26th November 2010)

another little teaser of me in my russia wig and fluffy russian hat! (and yes I know I need to shave =P having brown stubble and a blonde wig does not go!)

...*chariots of fire blares out from all over* (Posted 26th November 2010)

I DID IT!

I have officially finished making the outfit! HUZZAH!
This makes me so happy. I can't believe I have made something so beautiful! I remember when I first saw the outfit and thought, ooo that looks cool! (not gonna lie, mainly cos of the fluffy hat, I have a thing for hats!)

And now the pipe dream has become a beautiful, velvety, lacey, blinging, lined, royal, fluffy and very likely rather warm reality!

(I really wish I had confetti canons for moments like this! and a little marching band too for celebratory music...)

Really looking forward to wearing the outfit now with everyone else! and seeing all the other beautiful costumes.
Now to find a new pipe dream to make real!

See you all at the ball! xXx

SOOOO CLOSE! (Posted 25th November 2010)

YAY! I'm actually almost finished with this costume!
I just need to add the cuffs onto the jacket and sew together the hat, sash and hem the scarf, make some epiletes and I'm done!

I'm sat here looking up at in on the hanger and I still can't believe I've managed to pull of making it. I thought when I first saw the costume ooo that's pretty I wanna wear it, but kinda always thought of it as far too hard for me! but I've done it =D and it looks pretty awesome, if I say so myself.
Eee can't wait to wear it at the ball this weekend, only one more push tomorrow and should be all done!

Lapels! LAPELS! (Posted 22nd November 2010)

Okay so I have now bought everything I need for my costume, I have also won 2 broaches for it! YAY!

I have almost finished the collar and lapels now, and here is a photo of the lapels so far, I need to make the bigger one smaller, but thought I'd give a teaser anyways!

Basics done! (Posted 18th November 2010)

I have actually fallen in love with this coat!

I'm really pleased with how it turned out! and am now definitely going to be working with a lot more patterns! whenever possible.

I have now finished the basic coat and have started on the cuffs, collar and lapels. Will be starting the scarf this weekend, though that won't take long, keeping it simple.
I just need to get the last few bits from Fabricland on monday and I'm golden!
ONTO EMBELISHMENTS!

So can't wait for the ball now!

In mother russia cosplay sews you! (Posted 17th November 2010)

I have now come to the realisation that this is true!

I have made excellent progress today and am very pleased with how the outfit is turning out.
I have now put most of the bodice of the coat together, with lining. I have sew most of the tails together with velvet ribbon and now just need to line them and attach to the bodice!
Next jobs are this, making the collar and cuffs, and performing general tidy up...oh and the lapels!

Pieces, sleeves and lining! (Posted 15th November 2010)

I have cut out all the pieces of fabric to make the basic jacket and the lining! Huzzah! now I just to make them into a jacket and Embelish!

I have so far almost managed to make the sleeves, though the sewing machine proceeded to throw a hissy fit and spew out a load of thread at me so have given up for tonight. I hope to have the basic Jacket done by the weekend.

I can has Fabrics, Pattern and Wig (Posted 11th November 2010)

I have bought my first ever pattern! Woo! Now I need to attempt to use it with all my new fabrics for this outfit. I have lots of cotton velvet, duchess satin and other such wonderous things! (and yes there's more gold bias tape on the way *shudders*)

Will keep you posted on my progress.
