| -Costume is still incomplete but will put as complete for now- Pictures taken by Special-pleb~ When Sarah [Idiots-inc on cosplay.com] told me she had the perfect rib-knit fabric for Rinoa for such a cheap price [£4 per metre!!] I just couldn't resist! Although I'm not the biggest Rinoa fan in the world she's an alright character, plus it gives me an excuse to fangirl over all the Squall cosplayers hehe. Her outfit however is awesome and original, I love it to pieces! So here I am making it now. This is a rather relaxing costume for me, it's pretty easy and doesn't involve too much effort so it's a nice break after something as difficult as Steiner! Cost breakdown: £6 - 1.5m blue rib-knit fabric £1 - ??m stretched denin [bought it aaaages ago for my KH2 Riku cosplay, never used it!] How I made it: I started off with the duster, it was really just one big rectangle. Since I didn't have any bias binding on me I hemmed it instead, not accurate but it's better than having the raw edges showing! Will add bias binding when I have time and money. The dusted was held together with a safety pin LOL, I was gonna use the bais binding as a clasp but obviously didn't have time to get it so I had to improvise... Arm warmers were rectangles as well. Black top I already had. Shorts were made by cutting up old trousers and hemming it with a zig-zag stitch. Skirt was kind of a rectangular shape, trapezium perhaps. I dunno but it was easy to make Aha! I didn't have any buttons on me either, oh the shame! So inaccurate xD; Boots were my Duo/Miki/Great Saiyaman/whatever else I've used them for boots. I didn't have any laced up boots on me ;_; Yes I wasn't really going for accuracy, just something nice to wear for Halloween! I'll update with better pictures and a completed costume some other time. | |

28/10/08 - Duster, armwarmers made! (Posted 1 Month Ago) Righteo, that's all the rib-knit work made. The duster was basically one big panel with shoulder seams!! In the reference pictures the duster's lines can't cut out in shape but instead stretched over so I tried to mimic it, I hope I've suceeded... The armwarmers again were a rectangle and folded over to look as if it doesn't have a hem at the top. At the moment nothing is hemmed, instead I'm going to use bias binding, just gotta go hunting for the right colour sometime! ^_^ I can't really sew on the fasteners until I've added the bias binding either. In the picture I'm wearing the black top too, I can't be bothered to wear my shorts though - it's too cold! And it's look silly without the skirt which I haven't made yet lol xD P.S. Yes I know my hair's too long. |
