| Ah, the elusive Singapore variant. The story behind this is that I saw promotional pictures of the costume and instantly fell in love with it, and decided to do it for the next sci-fi event I was going to as I didn't feel it would really fit an anime event. This meant making it before the actualy release of the film. Of course, when I saw the film, I realised to my utter horror that the costume WAS NOT IN IT. I still don't know if it's in any deleted scenes or available anywhere. I've heard some strange rumours about it not being genuine. Still, I love it. It's a great design and it was fun to make and wear, even if the scalloping on the armour was irritating and tedious to cut. This costume also marks my first attempt at embroidery - thankfully forgivably scrappy as the original image shows it's not entirely neat. | |
