Description
Originally wanted to do the Pepperistic version of Pepper but I did my usual leave-it-till-dead-last-minute-not-sleep-for-days-on-end-and-panic. So I didn't have enough time to make a catsuit so settled for my own variant of Pepper. The magic of Pepper is she more of a concept than a character, lending to flexibility in designs and appearance. I discovered last minute that I actually owned a set of speedos in the Pepper colours so had a last minute brainstorm and came up with this design. I think I have overcome my fears of sewing Lycra after getting a few tips and tutorials from the magical world wide web.

This is the first time I have made a helmet. The Helmet is a cardboard base built over a set of fully functioning headphones, covered in resin and fibreglass. This is the first time I have used fibreglass, the outcome is a little ropey but I am very pleased with it for a first attempt. I had left the helmet so last minute that I only had 2 days to resin and fibre glass (AND BLOODY SAND) and paint it! So unfortunately I only used one layer of fibreglass and didn't realise I'd need some kind of body filler to smooth out the holes, resulting in the pock-marked texture. My arm was killing after the amount of sanding I had to do to smooth out the fibrey texture. I do not own a power sander, so I had to use lots of coarse sandpaper and elbow grease!

I originally intended to cosplay as a Deep Ground Soldier with Jacq_siir. The Deep Ground helmet has actually been in the making for many months but I actually gave up after deciding the helmet was too hard to make! In hindsight Pepper's helmet was a ridiculous choice for a first helmet because of all the curves! Still, now I've managed Pepper I'm definitely ready for the Deep Ground project! And I might still consider using fibreglass again.....
