| I first wore this in 2003. Ever since it has gone from strength to strength. This replaced the Mirkwood version that I had made in 2001. Sadly the first quiver died so I had to replace and decided I preferred the Lothlórien one. The tunic was also replaced as was the shirt and the leggings as all were too big for me. The easiest part was the cloak. I found the prefect fabric straight away and it took no time at all to build. The hardest part was the tunic. I've had to make it three times due to me loosing weight. Each time i'm still not happy with the fit. It has been one of most well known costumes on the 'Starfury' cosplay scenes and is confortable to wear. Getting a standing ovation from 2500 people at 'Fusion' when we entered (as legolas with my brother as Elrond)the competition was one of my hightlights. We didn't win anything but it was a top moment. The best reaction I've recieved for this cosplay was from the actor Domanic Monagahan (who played Merry. He asked me to do a twirl and said that Orlando would of been proud. Even though he is complete I would like to change certain aspects about him like the arm guards as they keep falling off! *UPDATE* I'm now listing this as complete even though the bow, arrows, vanbraces and leg guards need remaking. Not sure when I'll get around to it. It pretty much is complete without the rebuilds. The bow will need to be made to be currant con safe. The one I have is a real six foot mediaeval long bow. I'll be replacing the arrows as they were real ones that I changed the tips on to rubber ones. I'll be making the white knifes (finally!) and reworking the arm guards and leg wraps. | |

For 2011 (Posted 9th June 2011) As it will be Lord of The Rings film 10th anniversary this year (2011) I've decided to re-wear my Legolas as often as possible. I'm going to use the chance to finally finish the stuff I wanted to do on him for years like replace the leg and wrist leather armour and build the white knives. |

Ryaoki, I would to join you. I would need to replace the arrows before I do. they were real ones where I added protection on the ends. i now won't be allowed to do that.

BTW Did you happen to wear this at Starfury 'End of Days' convention in 2003...? Cos I read ur info for this costume and when looking at your photos went "That background looks familiar..." cos I was at that con and I remember a female Legolas cosplayer in the masquerade! (with an Elrond I think)
Yeap, Dark Elf, I wore this at Starfury End of days. The Elrond was my brother. I also had a Galadriel with me and an Arwen (costume I made).

wow, small world xD I was in that same masquerade too! I was part of the Legend (the fanatsy movie) group lol . I even have u on film cos my boyfriend filmed a good chunk of the masquerade. So I've mostly likely met u briefly on a few occasions before knowing u in a cosplay commuinity capacity ^^
OMG! You were in the Legend group. I loved that group. I have a photo of it somewhere. I thought you guys were awesome.

Hawkeye, yes the tunic was very difficult to make. I had to get the sizing just right. As a result of me loosing weight I ending up making it three times! Lol!
This is gorgeous! :o I love it when people put that extra bit of effort in because it really shows in the finished piece.
Also you should DEFINETLY wear it again. Would be awesome if we could get a largeish LOTR expo group at some point, cause it seems to be very neglected there recently! (Also I think this costume demands some more really nice photos! ^_^)

This is fantastic. I've not had the patience for the books to date x_x' but I do know a lot about Tolkien's work otherwise and of course I've seen the films. As a world-builder myself, his work has given me a lot of inspiration.

x-Blade-x, its easy :D. Stand on various epic landscapes looking pretty. Mention the occasional obvious thing and state that everything is being taken to Isengard XD XD. But seriously, much green fabric and basic tunic pattern.
