Description
A character from an RP between myself and Kitsu Aria who I've wanted to cosplay ever since he popped into my head. This is a side project more than anything else as I don't have a plan to wear him to any conventions or anything just yet. Its more of a chance for me to improve my sewing skills and have a bit of fun in the process, though I'll probably wear him out to a few Recons or something, that's for sure! :) [UPDATE: 9th June] Wow I haven't updated this in ages!!! Okay, this might be a bit of a long one as I try to squeeze everything in. Right, I started work on the mandarin top first off, all went pretty okay except I'm a little stuck on poppers and how I can hide them on the outside, am probably going to have to do something crafty with bice binding or whatever. Still need to hem the bottom and the sleeves too, but other than that it is pretty much done. Hakama! Gosh this took a while to get right, took 2 attempts before I got this right, they weren't hard (I had expected making Hakama to be very difficult) just I folded it wrong and didn't realise until it was too late T_T and of course I then ran out of material so couldn't remake them again until I had money to go and buy some more. But they're done now! I think I may iron them a couple more times (already done it about 3 times) to make the pleats more obvious and stuff, its my first time making pleats so it was an interesting task! Put the outfit so far on altogether, it looks a bit cheap and crummy at the moment, but once its finished I'm sure it'll look a heck of a lot better! [30th April] Had a play with craft foam today, it was my first attempt at trying to make armour and decided to stick with something simple, so I made Kouu's armguards. Cut up some craft foam and spent a while putting the hairdryer on them to shape them. I found it pretty easy to do, so hopefully more armour making to come soon ^^.
