Boot progress (Posted 20th November 2012) I luckily found some latex to cover the boots that matches the bodysuit really well. I found it easier to glue the latex sheet onto the boot in sections, three in total around the main part and again around the wedge heel. I carefully glued the latex onto the boot, trimming the shape as I went along. I used the matching latex on the top and the same royal blue latex I used for the gloves on the heel part and added some seam detail around at the front. |
Gloves complete (Posted 17th November 2012) Finished gloves with logo and the detail on the right glove cut away to match. They will need some more latex shiner before worn. |
Glove logo progress (Posted 17th November 2012) I sketched the logo first before using that as a stencil to cut out the latex pieces in a pale and dark pink. It was easier to glue the pink pieces together first before fixing the logo to the glove. The bottom shows how the royal blue latex was fixed onto the glove in two separate pieces to keep the latex flexible and easy to wear. |
Glove progress (Posted 11th November 2012) So I've finally started progress. I'm using royal blue latex sheeting to contrast with the metallic blue gloves/suit. Using a marker (can be removed with latex cleaner) I roughly marked out the pattern on the glove and used a paper template to help get the shape. As the gloves will sit on top of the suit sleeves, I carefully cut away a section from the glove to recreate the design on the arms. |
Latex suit (Posted 28th July 2012) I researched into latex making and the techniques and tested glueing together off cut pieces with success. After months of deciding and experimenting with different materials I was finally able to purchase the base latex suit. I'll be starting on the gloves first once I have the dark blue sheet latex. |
Latex gloves (Posted 10th June 2012) I didn't want a modified latex suit with gloves attached so bought them separate. The suit will be purchase shortly in the same metallic blue. |
Latex for logo detail (Posted 10th June 2012) Pastel and hot pink sheet latex, glue and roller. This will be used for the logo's on the back, glove and front of the base suit. I'm planning to make paper templates first for the designs and will be testing this method on the small glove logo first. |
