Description
-About the cosplay-
Tiger Stripes - Another attire for Snake, this time what he wears in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Made myself the Tank Box that appears in the same game to have some giggles and fun with it. Also made the stabo harness and straps for the gun holsters which will be edited onto a brought one. Charlotte-chan helped me with the brassards and I made the stun rod and rod holder. The rest of the cosplay is brought or from my other Snake cosplay.

T-Shirt - Snake appears in many different attire throughout Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. One one of them happens to be be t-shirt. It's just a plain white t-shirt, nothing special. This is my lazy Snake cosplay, if I can't be bothered to wear all the gear.

Jungle Fatigues - For Eurogamer Expo 2012, I've decided to re-vamp my Peace Walker Snake cosplay. I purchased some new ammo pouches and a buttpack and also re-styled the wig to make it look more accurate to what it looks like in Peace Walker. I also decided to change attire too by choosing his default olive green jungle fatigues. It seems more recognisable to spot what type of Snake I'm cosplaying. So I've decided to wear Olive Green when I do Peace Walker Snake and wear the Tiger Stripes when I cosplay MGS3 Snake.

-About the Character-
On November 4, 1974, Big Boss along with Kazuhira Miller as second in command stationed the Militaires Sans Frontieres (MSF) in the Barranquilla Coast of Colombia, where he was approached by Professor Ramón Gálvez Mena and hhis student Paz Ortega Andrade from the Institution of Peace to help they're home country of Costa Rica, a "Nation without a Military." Since the Cuban Missile Crisis, Latin America had become a key to maintaining the power balance between East and West, though Costa Rica had miraculously managed to maintain its peace and neutrality. However, in various regions of the country, a mysterious armed force seemed to be engaged in specific activities, claiming to be an "international police force" hired by the Costa Rican Development Agency. However, Gálvez doubted this was the case as they were shipping in a lot of advanced equipment. He also told Snake that he believed that the armed force was actually employed by "la cia." When Gálvez attempted to hire Big Boss and the Militaires Sans Frontieres to hold back the invasion and giving them a base as payment, Big Boss was reluctant, as he did not want his unit to become a "dogs of war" group, and suggested that Gálvez try to get a negotiator whom he knew to the Costa Rican government to settle the dispute. Big Boss eventually agreed when Gálvez revealed that he knew who Big Boss really was, as well as learning from a walkman bird recording from Paz's missing friend that a woman's voice was heard, it was The Boss, Big Boss' mentor who he killed 10 years ago at Rokovo Berej. Six days later, to preserve peace in the region, the Militaires Sans Frontieres moved into action. After infiltrating the shipping facility in question, he learned from interrogating a radioman that cargo was going to a facility in Mount Irazu. He and Miller also suspected from the unusual amount of film badges and the fact that the radioman referred to the cargo as "spears" that the CIA was apparently bringing nukes into Costa Rica.

Journal

Patriot (Posted 17th January 2013)

Due to owning a M4-A1 and M4s are too modern for Snake. I decided I'm going to take it apart and customise it into a Patriot.

All I need to do is remove the stock, shorten the barrel and purchase a double drum magazine. Also give it a good spray paint too.

Revamp. (Posted 18th June 2012)

I was thinking of possibly revamping this Snake cosplay, to make it more accurate looking. Firstly I am going to gel back the wig and style it to make it similar and accurate to the final art work images and buy the right equipment (M56 ammo pouches and M56 buttpack.) Also I'm going to buy some metal eyelets and eyelet puncher and attach them to the gloves and compression shirt. I also need to find some charcoal grey fabric to make a new bandanna, since Snake's bandanna is no longer olive green in Peace Walker.

I also decided of scrapping the Tiger Stripes fatigues for the Snake Eater cosplay and have the Olive Darb fatigues for this cosplay instead.

Oh, I must find some cigars too.

Planning to finish all this before September for Hideo Kojima's return UK visit and EuroGamer Expo 2012.

New holster edited. (Posted 15th October 2011)

Brought the perfect holster (image from previous journal entry) from a UK seller. It arrived today and I edited it by adding webbing straps on it. It looks perfect. Very accurate to Big Boss' actually one. I'm very pleased with this.

Brassards completed (Posted 25th June 2011)

My girlfriend Charlotte-chan has kindly used her sewing machine to help me sew and complete my brassards for Snake. She did a fantastic job and very grateful for it. Thanks Char! xx

Sew On Patches Arrived. (Posted 8th June 2011)

The FOX and MSF sew on patches arrived today! Really made my day as I went and brought 1 metre of black pleather to make the brassards with as well!

Will start making these very, very soon.

Stun Rod Complete (Posted 5th June 2011)

Finally got round and started and finished making the stun rod. I made it using the left over crafting foam I used for my Hazama boots. I coloured it in afterwards since the foam is grey and I wanted to give it a more metallic look? The handle has 4 layers to make it more thicker and easier to hold. I need to re-colour it later on as some of the colouring tends to fade away somehow...

The photo doesn't show it off well. But I promise you, it does look better IRL.

Neo Stabo Harness Complete (Posted 26th November 2010)

Thanks to Square Enix Products and bringing out the Metal Gear Solid action figures with every single detail, I finally completed Snake's neo stabo harness.

Due to lacking a sewing machine, I had to hand sew. It took longer then I thought it would mainly because the needle couldn't pierce through the webbing good enough. But I finally did it eventually.

The whole of the harness is not sewed together, the chest piece of the harness will be Velcro on as according to the action figure I got, Snake's wears his harness very differently then what he used to in MGS3, It was a lot harder and differ cult to put it on with the chest piece sewed on. So I decided to have it velcro on to make it more easier for me to put the harness on without any problems.

Tank Box Complete (Posted 20th October 2010)

Tank box is finished!! It took a lot of glueing and painting to keep everything intact but it's finally finished!!

Sadly it can only fit in one person due to it's size (only big enough box I could find.) But I bloody love it!

In the cannon, I'll be putting in there battery powered iPod speakers with my iPod and all day it will be blasting out MGS tunes.
