| So i wore this to J-Culture Con 2011 Didn't win the cosplay contest, but came in the top 5 with my buddy as Jellyfish Dizzy, <3 Bad news on this costume. I rushed this, so i was never very happy with how it turned out at all. The only good thing that came out was the actual dress. I didn't have the right top, the wig.. and things kept falling off. I hope one day i get to remake this. | |

Wig! (oh no) (Posted 16th September 2011) So i ordered a wig last minute, last thursday. I paid extra shipping so it would get here in time. So after the seller had sent it i asked how long it'll take to get here, they said about 5-7 days at least. So i thought ok it should get here in time then. A week later on the Thursday night i thought my wig hasn't arrived yet and messaged the seller to ask where the wig i bought and asked for fast shipping was, turns out they completely forgot i paid and asked for fast shipping therefore they sent it normal post. The thing is i asked them AFTER they posted how long it'll get here. Bastards. They apologised loads and offered free shoes (not boots), i replied back saying "I dont want your stupid shoes i wanted my wig!" The seller is called jcpunk, i warn you about this seller now (Ebay) I have a full refund back. |

Shoes (Posted 14th September 2011) The final part. There's one piece missing and that's the front bit. So far, i have covered the boot with orange fabric, including the tongue, as you can see in the picture they are lace ups an i forgot (stupid me ahha) So mother had an idea of making some covers to go round and be attached at the front with velcro (those are the long orange parts near the boots) I will get a better picture when i have completely finished them, but wow.. i'm not doing this again. (ignore the hat on teh left) XD |

Hat (back part) (Posted 14th September 2011) So far so good! All it needs now, is sewing at the bottom to keep it intact and the skull and crossbones to be attached! Ahh, i can't wait! Me and my mother couldn't think of how to make this hat without it being stupidly big or whatever. So be came up with a source of how to do it. We cut out a template on A3 paper, made sure it was the right height, length ect. And took that piece on to thin bendy card that was lying round the house, drew it out on the card, got some wodding (stuffing) from a pillow or from a local market store put at least two sheets of it onto the card with hot glue, sticks well as it melts the wodding onto the card, so that was good enough for me. On the back we covered a piece of elastic in the same colour fabric (orange) and stapled and hot glued it to the back this way it's easier to wrap around your head and can be taken off as on the ends will be velcro. It's perfectly secure. The picture of the back is on the left there as you can see what i'm talking about. OH and also, when placing the cover over the top of the hat my mother slit two small thing lines so the elastic can be pushed through and tied, (: |

Armour Complete (Posted 11th September 2011) Okay, so the picture isn't that clear. I think i might have over painted it, but oh well i might do some new wrist armour parts for october, but i have 6 days so these will have to do! I need to attach to elastic and velcro so i can take it off around my wrists when eating, 'cos that will be a pain in the bum haha! And that's them pretty much done! woo! |
|
Outfit (Posted 11th September 2011) So far so good. Everything is coming along nicely as you can see in the picture. More is to be done, but me and my mother are half way there! Still got a lot to do within 6 days coming up. Ahhh! I still need my wig to hurry up over here, i really hope it comes in time as i asked for fast shipping. I ordered it on Thursday so hopefully it should come before Saturday. If it comes and it's horrible i don't care i don't have enough time to buy another so it'll have to do! haha! Fingers crossed! |

Anchor W.I.P (Posted 9th September 2011) So, this s the result so far. I cut out from a piece of foam board (you can get at any art or craft store), took a long PVC pipe, cut 3/4 down and slid the shape i cut out for the bottom part. Taping it with masking tape to have it succoured. I did the same with the ring at the top, making a little square just to slid id down in between the PVC pipe. Masking taping that as well. The next part i did was to gather loads (and i mean loads) of newspaper scrunched up and taped down on both sides, something that looks like the photo on the left. Using a piece of foam i wrapped it around the top part of the round bit (dont know what to call it haha) and hot glued it, put some string around it so it can dry without me holding it! Next part i'm going to do is cover it in chicken wire so it's succoured, papar mache it and paint it. And wa-la job down. Also the cheapest way to do it. (: |

Neck Pad/Armour (Posted 9th September 2011) I'm making May's neck and arm pads/armour of of foam then taking it to shape with wire, paper mache it after this will the n give me the bend i want. But first is to cut the shape out of the foam you want, like this picture here i have shaped from a rectangular shape foam. I put in the 3 holes that she has on the armour as a guide to know where they are. |
