Aerith as she appears (briefly) in Final Fantasy Tactics as the flower girl. Quite looking forward to doing this. I think the skirt'll be fun! And its so cute! I'm going to be doing this for Minami 15. Its an adorable outfit and I think it would be a lot of fun to make and to wear. I have a pattern in mind for the skirt (Butterick 4114). And I'm pretty sure I could find a pattern that is ideal for the shirt with the Autumn coming in and therefore, Autumn patterns coming in. I'm thinking of either doing layers and layers of tull to get the poof (so a tull petticoat) or just using a hoop skirt, and doing one layer of tull. Not decided yet. I'm going to stick to cottons and drill cottons for this, though may use a t-shirt cotton for the shirt. Definately using interfacing to keep the collar stiff. So yes... I see this as being my next project after October (with Xianghua and Sailor Jupiter on the side). 22/10/2008 Bad day at work means buying of material to make myself feel better (shut up, simple but it works). So I bought the material for this and patterns. Two Butterick patterns, 4114 for the skirt and 5008 for the shirt (which will need a LOT of editting). Then bought four metres of drill cotton for the skirt (and waist band and also the headscarf) and two metres of t-shirt fabric for the shirt so I can get it on and wear it comfortably. Next comes cutting. Going to start with the skirt. Once that's done I know how big to make the tull petticoat(s) then I'll do the shirt. 22/10/2008 Made the skirt this evening. It came together very easily! :D All sewn together with zip. Have to sew the bias binding around the bottom hem. Going to try and make the apron and the shirt next. :D 23/10/2008 12 metres of white tulle acquired. Next comes cutting and sewing and attaching to elastic to make the foofy pettcoat. Hopefully will get this done tonight! 23/10/2008 Four tulle skirts made. OH GOD. Have I ever said how much I hate tulle? No? Well, I'm saying it now! Its easy enough to cut, but its just a PAIN in the ARSE. HOWEVER. The outcome is lovely and makes me extremely happy. The skirt is big and poofy and swishy and looks right and poofs out enough. I think I'm going to have to get my sister to wear the skirt when I add the ribbon round the bottom. Next on the list is the shirt, apron and waist band. 30/10/2008 I started on the shirt last night. Not only do I have my tull putticoats, but I've just placed an order for a hoop skirt. Oh well - at least my waist will look tiny. 02/11/2008 Made the shirt today. I hate sewing on sleeves! It always ALWAYS confuses me! But they're on. The shirt isn't perfect, but it should be fine. Now I'm in the process of making the waist band, collar and cuffs. I'm also looking out for dark brown ugg boots to wear with this. All the big jobs (making the skirt and shirt) are done. Its just the detailing remaining. Making collars and cuffs is a pain. Well... okay, no. Not making them. Sewing them into place. They're just evil. But the cuffs look okay, and the collar should too... hopefully. I'm borrowing a friend to use as a mannequinn in the few days so I can pin the ribbon into place and also get the hem of th skirt up (oh joy). Last thing on the list is to get the headscarf done which should take an hour or so really.

Bad day at work means buying of material to make myself feel better (shut up, simple but it works).
So I bought the material for this and patterns.

Making collars and cuffs is a pain. Well... okay, no. Not making them. Sewing them into place. They're just evil. But the cuffs look okay, and the collar should too... hopefully.

This is coming on quite nicely.
I'd say the skirt was about 70% done all that remains is the hemming of it, the making and adding of the waist band. I have to add a hook an eye and the ribbon detail. So there are a few jobs left, but its coming together.

The shirt is... getting there slowly. The shirt I'm not too worried about I have the front and back pinned, need to make and pin the sleeves and sew it all together. Then its the making of the cuffs and collar and headscarf.
