| In my efforts to complete all of Aeriths costumes, this is going up. The original Amano version. I'm taking a lot of liberties with this (when I make it). I'll probably make it for Ame '09 for the ball. 19/07/2008 I found a load of material that i bought for my original Aeris cosplay. There's enough there to do this! So I have lots of material to start with! YAY. 27/07/2008 Today was a very productive day! I managed to make the whole main dress. I used a pattern for the first time. And my God! Its so much easier to use a pattern and put something together when you're not reading the instructions. I find the instructions on patterns really hard, but after just using them to cut out the right bits, I just used my common sense. I love the dress... this'll sound silly, but I feel like such a princess when I wear it... >.>;; Going to start work on the jacket and... veil-ish bit soon. :3 28/07/2008 Bought the material for the jacket and plenty of bias binding for the hemming of the dress. Which I hope to start on tonight or tomorrow. 30/07/2008 made the jacket last night. A bit of a trail and error experiment, but I'm happy with how its turned out. Then spent about three hours trying to figure out how to attach it to the dress. Went with my original option of a couple of snap fasteners. They're sturdy enough, and they also give me some room to move my arms. Also bias binded the hem of the top of dress. Going to get some lilac or white (haven't decided yet) gossimer material for the veil-type-bit, and hopefully have that done by tonight. 31/07/2008 Veil-type bit is done. And so is the hair ornament, pretty much. YAY! I've currently waiting for craft foam to dry so I can make the bracelets. And I have to hem the skirt, which I plan to do this weekend. Once those bits are done though, that will be it! YAY! 31/07/2008-01/08/2008 So over most of last night I fixed a few things up. Added four more snap fasteners to the jacket and the dress, to hold the jacket up when its being worn as the veil can make it drag a little. I unpicked the veil and realigned it hopefully its more central now. Also sewn on flowers to the back more securely so they're less likely to come adrift. This morning, literally as soon as I woke up, I took in the chest area of the dress so its not so gapy. It fits a little better around my bust, so I hopefully won't be as paranoid about it falling down the whole time I'm wearing it! I have the hemming of the skirt left to do, which hopefully I will get done tomorrow. 02/08/2008 I took up the hem of the skirt early this morning and sewed it up, so the hemming is done. Also fixed the bias binding on the front, so hopefully it looks better. I rejigged the hair ornament a fair bit so its not so fluffy and you have a better view of the flowers. All thats left is an iron, and then I can pack it away nice and safe in its transportation bag. :3 02/08/2008 again. FIIIIINIIIISHED! :3 | |
