| I love Erika!! I can relate to her so much xD Her and Walker have been some of my favorite characters throughout (otaku love!!), and the manga-torture-scene just settled it for me - I HAD to cosplay her!! On an interesting note; Erika will be my first ever female cosplay 0.0!! ---- Well. THIS cost a TOTAL BOMB, considering how simple this costume is... OTL;;; All because of my n00bishness. I wanted this specific shade of grey, and they didn't have it at my fabric store... So I decided to buy some fabric, and just dye it. Well. I spent an awful lot of money machine-dying it, then REdying it using handdye... Only to realise the fabric just wasn't gonna take to it >__>;; So now I have a load of off-whiteish-greyish fabric in my attic that I can't really use for anything because it's such an awkward colour and won't dye OTL;;;;;;;;;;; In the end, we drove up to another fabric store, where I found some lovely fabric in the right colour >__>;;; That is one thing I really love about this hobby though - it seems every time I make a new cosplay, I learn something new. I think that's pretty great :3 (I also learned that I suck at making hats... *cringes at her failhat*);;;; I wouldn't say this is a favourite cosplay of mine... It's a little uncomfortable to wear, plus, I generally feel more comfortable being a sexy bishie guy/cute little boy xD Girl cosplays are weiirrrddd D: (Though I do have more planned orz;; ) I don't mind too much though, because I feel like Erika is my bro or something xD I can be myself wearing her~ Thanks to Pip btw for the awesome photos!!! Death of the Dye... (Posted 11th August 2010) ...Oyy =___=;; So after 3 goes, and nearly £50 worth of Dylon, the fabric is STILL a pale-off-white. It just didn't wanna dye AT ALL. Which is highly annoying x__x;; But it's been a learning experience xD And has made me UBER determined to finish this cosplay D8< IT WILL BE DONE. So I'm-a go to the big fancy abakhan in wales, see if they have anything there... And try the fabric shop in bham too~! I need to go down there for Captain fabric anyhoos o3o;; Gawddamnit Erika, you and your awkward charcoal grey outfit >8C |

Progress? (Posted 4th August 2010) Whelp, the wig has been styled (just needs some touchups), the bag has been made, the contacts and the shoes have both been purchased... I have all the patterns and fabric needed to carry on. I just need to buy this darn dye *__*;; I'm putting it off because I don't know exactly how much I need... and that stuff is expensive Dx; |

Wig!! (Posted 14th June 2010) Well, I just ordered the wig - officially begining this cosplay!! I had some debate with myself over colour, and decided to go for a darkish brown - not too dark or black however!! Cause I like the contrast of colour~~<3 I spent many hours (when I should be revising) trawling ebay for a suitable wig >.>;; In the end, I decided to go for SouthPanda-8, cause Pip ordered her Barma wig from there and it was lovely :3 I just hope the colour isn't too light >.>;; I can darken it with FWink I suppose o.o It's curly (therefore longer), so I had enough hair to plait ^^ Also, I can re-use it for lolita outfits :D!! *squee* Can't wait for it to arrive!! I miss wigstyling xD |
