I'm organising a burlesque fundraiser for the Edinburgh Temporary Autonomous Art group FREAK Last year we took an abandoned building and over a couple of months transformed it into a haven for art, self expression and events which we held over four days. We intend to do this again in July and we're currently raising funds for it ^-^ The theme of the night is Fantasy and Fairytales so I decided to go as Tinkerbell ^-^ I'd been working on this corset and had some issues with it. It was a mockup for a corsetdress and I'd cut the pattern slightly off, (extending the seams down from the hip instead of really considering it at a pencil skit, silly me) so I've cut off the lower half, recut the boning and finished it off. Heres some shots of the basic corset. I still need to add the silk leaves and the vines and beading, which I intend to do today. I also need to make the wings and find a pair of shoes to decorate. Momo is making me an ace little green top hat in matching silk with a teardrop shaped brim and triangular top. It's gonna be ace. UPDATE! I've now finished the beadwork and embroidery and it's looking gorgeous. I also found a lovely pair of pale gold tbar court shoes for £6 so I've added a little of the matching beads, hand sewn into the ankle strap and just around the front. Now all I need is the matching underwear and wings^^ UPDATE! Momo made me a lovely hat which I embellished with beading and gold threads along the top and added fabric leaves and beading to the front ^^ Wings are still a work in progress >.< All completed and ready for Teaze now, I'll most likely be bringing it to Ame also ^^
