| *EDIT 29/01/12* Wow, um, thanks for the showcase! Even after a year and a bit, this costume still remains my favourite :3 Well, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now with this costume. It has taken me from hell and back with all the ruffles, they were just so time consuming and took forever to sit properly on the dress. All that is left to do now is add some more ribbon, straps and then its done. Wow. It's kind of sad and happy to see this one nearly finished, mainly because I have spent so much time making it I will be at a bit of a loss when I have nothing to work on for the next few months. I look forward to seeing everyone at expo! This is going to be a challenge! I am still deciding if I will get this done before october because I allready have 2 costumes to make. We shall see... I am making slow but steady progress with this one, I has turned out better than expected so far but there is still so much left to do. | |

So tired (Posted 8th August 2010) Well, last night I spent 4 hours getting the base of the dress to fit the petticoat properly and lay flat. I had to add pleats and darts around the waist along with some extra panels. I am happy with how it turned out and I am going to start cutting out the silky material which I am using for all the ruffles. In the picture it is hard to tell if the ruffles are pink or white, so I just went for pink because I liked the material I found better in pink. I will have some progress pictures up soon ^-^ |

Why is cosplay so expensive T-T (Posted 23rd July 2010) So, I decided to make sure that I keep track of my spendings on my cosplays and I made a excel document with all the prices for each individual item. So it started out at about £93.38 for everything. I looked on ebay to see if I could find any price comparisons and the cheapest I could find with P&P included was £93.47. Its quality and detailing was not the great but I needed to get to a price which was lower than the one on ebay to justify making the costume to my parents XD. I finally got it down to this after about 2 hours of trawling all over the web - Item Price per m Amount Total 15% off Am I happy with myself? Yes, yes I am ^-^ |

Scraps are great! (Posted 9th June 2010) Well, I have decided to make all 4 of my costumes for the mcm expo in october all in one go together. It will make sure that I don't get bored whilst making something and it will get things done quicker. I have been using old fabric to start making the costume and using some of the scraps to test how the ruffles will lay. It is going ok and when I get new fabric you won't be able to stop me! |

A new challenger approaches! (Posted 5th June 2010) Yay! I really, really want to make this. So much ribbon and ruffles *-* This will be my first time using a hoop in a dress and I can't wait to see how this turns out. I have what I am doing with this planned out in my head and if I have enough time I want to finish this for the london mcm expo in october along with Fai, kurogane and the syaoran to go with this sakura. Wish me luck ^-^ |
