Update on this costume! (Posted 7th May 2013)

It's been a very long time since i've worn this. I had to get rid of the wig i had because i destroyed it for another cosplay. Kir has been wrapped up in bin bags to keep it dust free, but i fear that it might have not survived. However, i'm hoping to cosplay Jing once again with or without Kir. I really love this character and i felt like i didn't do him justice when i wore him. Yeah i was proud enough that i had made something so challenging; though never again! Took too long! I need to re-make the jumpsuit he wears, or just make some trousers 'n a tank top. Yeah might be easier that way. I still have the Long distraught jacket and the boots. After all that said, i'm going to re-make this and re-wear it again!

OK so i've finished the wings, sort of. All i need to do is attach some feathers onto them and they should be completed! What i've done to make these wings are foam, chicken wire and paper machae. I used the thin foam and cut the shape out, i then wrapped it around with the chicken wire to get it more shape and to make it stiff. Next i hot glued the wings onto the body base as well as adding wire to the wings and onto the body to give it support, i then paper machae the whole lot, i gave it a few layers near the part where i glued and about two layers at the end of the wings so it doesn't make it as heavy. I then went over it all with black paint so you won't be able to see the white/paper colour underneath when you add feathers. I haven't got a picture yet, but i'll probably post one up soon enough when the paint is dry. :'D

OK, so this has t be the hardest prop i have made so far. I mean i've never really work with foam before.. i have used the hot glue gun before but that was just to fix something. The amount of times i've glued myself to nothing is unbelievable. However i have progressed more from last time because i had to buy a new Hot glue gun because i can't seem to find the glue sticks for the smaller version which is a pain. Then again it's about time we got a new one. Anyways, Kir is going to be in 3 pieces, this might sound weird because i have to put it on at the convention in 3 pieces.. kir is going to be a broken bird. Ah but i won't be able to get it on any other way. The wings are going to be a pain, i need some chicken wire to strengthen it.. noe all i need is feathers.. quill feathes possibily which is going to be a pain to buy as i need an awful lot and they're £6.99 for about 25? D': ..okay well lets cut to the chase and get this done before i go back to college!
