Description
Do Nobodies, supposedly little more than shells, simply cease to be when their time runs out? Or is there something more awaiting them, through perhaps the one door that truly leads in only one direction? I have a confession to make. I don’t like Axel. He was perfectly tolerable in Chain of Memories, but with voice acting and gestures in Kingdom Hearts II, he somehow grated on me. I tend to dislike cocksure characters, and his confidence soon became patronising, and then intensely irritating. “Got it memori~zed?” Guh. And then just as he began to show his true colours, just as I thought to myself, “Ah, now we’ll have some character development, and I’ll see what all the fuss is about,” well…all of a sudden it became very apparent that we weren’t going to see any more development after all. However, when I went through a stage of snapping up cheap wigs on eBay, just about anything I could get for under a fiver including postage, I came across this one. “David Bowie wig,” it was advertised as. Well, I saw it and thought, “Hmm, I could make an Axel wig out of that.” Cost me some £4 and came looking like the kind of coral clownfish like to live in. However, it only took 15 minutes or so to put it into spikes, and since I may have some other designs for it, and came to realise that this was a cosplay that it would be far too much hassle to do in public, I decided to do a one-off photo with it…which I also intend to do for a few other costumes. On the other hand I wasn’t prepared to shell out for/make an Organisation XIII leather coat – but I did have this long white Matrix-style jacket, which with collar inside out and Kurapika chains strategically added gave me the bright idea of some kind of anti-Axel. Angelic, perhaps.
