| Bioshock is one of my all time favourite games, the story, artwork EVERYTHING =) So just to show my dedication... ;) Worn to the London MCM Expo, October 2010 alongside Sweeturk as Subject Delta. Now one of my favourite costumes! Dress was made by myself with some help from my mum (damm sewing pattern >.<) I based the whole dress of off a costume sewing pattern (Dorothy from Wizard of Oz) Lots of alterations had to be made as the skirt part was HUGE POOFY. The fabric I used was originally white and blue striped cotton which I dyed using dylon fabric dye in 'jeans blue' [see journal info] The stripes are very faded so don't show up very well but they are there! The pinafore was pretty much trial and error untill i got the basic shape and then just tidied it up untill i was happy enough with how it looked & sewed it straight onto the dress. It does up at the back with poppers connected to the bow. The collar is actually just a piece of cotton cut to the right shape and sewn on (i hate making collars!) My mum kindly hand-sewed the 4 buttons onto the front of the dress for me and then I decided to rip one off for effect lol Last things I did was distress and stain everything, I found destroying parts of the dress quite difficult after all the work that had gone into making the dress haha I used Sands tutorial on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjuLESYMSqc)to distress all the bottom off the dress, pinafore and sleeves(mostly using a cheese grator!)Stained all the bottom with coffee which made it look good but I then stank of coffee wherever I went! NICEE Also tea-stained other areas as well as adding some food colouring for blood stains. I do plan on re-doing the blood stains though as it was very rushed and food colouring was all i had in the house, I did want it a lot darker ;) The make-up I did myself and used my own hair. (My mum made the hair bow for me while I was destroying the dress lol) Credit for the ADAM needle goes to my Dad =) I do plan on weathering the needle in future for when I do her again (ran out of time before expo) Just to make it more grimey and dirty looking. I do hope one day as well to somehow make the ADAM chamber glow ;) And will also hopefully make a Big Daddy Doll! | |

Dress Progress (Posted 10th October 2010) Still very much a work in progress haha but getting there =) Obviously need to add the white part as well which i'm currently working on. Before anyone says anything I know the colour is off -_- It looks a lot better in person, lighting in my room also didn't help. The fabric i used was originally white and navy blue, I then dyed it using some dylon fabric dye in 'jeans blue' I thought the 'Navy blue' would make it too dark, but haven't got the time to re-dye so it will do for now. The fabric does have thin faded stripes but can only really be seen close-up. I had a really hard time with my fabric choice lol i'm hoping it won't look too bad. *See picture for close-up of fabric* Flash was on as well so is slightly darker than that ^^' |

Progress..kinda =) (Posted 15th August 2010) Ive just ordered this pattern from ebay for the dress (see picture) Had to order it on there as it doesn't seem to be available in the UK As you can its not an exact match to the Little Sister's dress but I think its the closest i'm going to get without having to alter the pattern TOO much. Once it gets here I'll start my hunt for fabric...i'm really undcided on that >_< Hopefully some time this week I shall be ordering the fuel nozzle for my ADAM syringe as well. Idealy i'd like to have an older style one to be more accurate but ive not had much luck finding one that isn't over £50 T_T I have found a much newer one, silver and made from alluminium. I think I could work with it but it probably won't look as good as the other type... But hopefully with some work it would look okay and my dad is willing to help as well =) Also need to try and find some accuate looking contact-lenses. I really want some that make the whole eye yellow, not just the iris...I know they will probs be quite expensive though so not sure right now if i'll be able to have them or not... I'm giving myself lots of time to work on this costume..well more time than normal (2-3weeks before the event ^^') As I really want to actually ENJOY working on a costume rather than rushing it and generally spazzzing out because of how little time I have etc. More updates to come once I start work on it XD |

Ahhh you make such an amazing Little Sister! I'm looking to make this costume myself and have so far failed a little bit with finding parts for the Adam needle. Any chance you could let me know where you got yours from?
