|Originally, I wasn't too keen on this costume but as many of the houses in Grand Designs, it grew on me!|
The outfit parts that needed to be fabricated were basically one jacket, one pair of trousers, one bumbag with straps and one magatama/talisman.
Jacket is comprised of black leatherette and black pinpoint corduroy made from a highly fitted pattern and even then it still needed further taking in.
The cuffs were true cuffs that continued from the sleeve ends.
Zipper was used to keep the front closed and buckles were made of craft foam (hint, the stuff that's backed onto magnetic backing strengthens the foam so craft foam doesn't need to be doubled up)
Trousers were made from black leatherette. The designs on the knees took several attempts to get right and all was double-stitched by hand. Two large snap fasteners were sewed onto the back of the waistband to hold up the bumbag.
Bumbag created from thin cotton drill and edged with white cotton. Straps were created from upholstery leatherette and many snap fasteners were sewed into the bag to hold the straps to the bag.
Talisman started off as a bouncy clear red ball. A small hook was screwed into the ball and the horned part was moulded from milliput as were the beads.
The leather thonging was cut into three lengths and the ends joined onto a necklace clasp.
Gloves were borrowed and shoes were a pair of DM's.
