| Master of Mosquiton is a very small, late 90's OVA and series. It's one of my many guilty pleasures. The original OVA is a great self-contained series about vampires and immortality, and the '99 series is.. well.. something else. Mosquiton '99 took the same characters and premise and threw the story out of the window, instead adding clashing colours, no continuity and a low budget. Inaho's "treasure hunter" outfit is easily the most 90's thing ever designed, with a two-tone magenta dress and boots, yellow and orange jacket, green necklace and blue accessories, topped off with red hair. I don't know if seeing the design so often has clouded my judgement or not but.. I actually kind of like it XD I've wanted to make it for about 4 years! I'm surprised more people haven't done it before.. or maybe that's the clouded judgement coming back again. The best bit of this outfit so far is reference hunting. I swear, in no 2 images is her dress the same. In some pictures the bottom stripe is white; in some, it's magenta; in some it doesn't exist, and in some the dress isn't even two-tone. I even found one where the bottom half of the dress was yellow. I honestly.. don't even. The holster and belt is awesome, it closes with velcro and the holster is perfect to fit my video camera. Looks accurate AND it's practical! This outfit is now finished, the wig arrived and is styled now~! The only thing missing is her earring but I don't have my ears pierced so oh well~ I might get one and sew it into the wig, though, if I find the right kind of cross. But otherwise, finished well in time for AmeCon!! COMPLETE - Wig - Jacket - Dress - Necklace - Boots - Belt and holster - Gloves | |
